I will be upgrading the MoBo/RAM/CPU soon, so there is no compelling reason for me to go that route at this time.

Just need to get the drivers tuned up. Intel may have an uphill battler to compete with Nvidia or AMD, since they literally have decades of experience making gpu's and drivers, but i welcome any other competition if it will help bring prices of these things down to a more "affordable" level.

How ironic that the drivers provided so far have been abysmal. Performance, while not outright bad, is relatively sub par. Value wise they are fine, but they don't have any offerings above the A770, which isn't even 3070 level performance from what i've seen.

It's more of a "well what i have is working and running well enough that my experience isnt compromised" budget. Once game start coming out that i cant run, that's likely when i'll upgrade. MWII this year might be my breaking point haha

Oh well thats cool.. Nice to have connections. But there are a metric ton of used crypto cards out there on amazon and ebay, ect, right now.

If that is a good deal I can probably get another or similar at or around that price again. Would you like for me to look? I didn't think it was cheap enough for me to turn a buck on, but wasn't sure. I know for 1000% though, that I had no use for it so getting stuck with it wasn't an option.

It's not a terrible deal, $600 is about retail price for those. I'm gonna wait a while and see how the prices do. They are already starting to slowly go down, due to a lot of people getting out of the crypto market, and dumping millions of used (and probably burnt out) high end graphics cards into the market. Then there is also Nvidia about too release the new 4000 series cards, so 3000 series and older card prices should go down even further.

I'll probably pick up a 3070GTX when the prices fall a bit more. Maybe a 3080Ti if they go down low enough. If the prices on those cards stay high i may try a 2080Ti.. Which would be enough for me since i don't have a high end monitor, i just use a 52" HDTV, its a 1080p tv, so i just run all my games in 1080 resolution, with, usually, everything else maxed out..

My current card 1080GTX-4GB still performs well with pretty much every game i throw at it.

I think it could use a repasting though, its been running a few degrees hotter than it usually does lately.

If that is retail now, this was in March. It is long gone. I get asked regularly. I will send you a PM if one comes up.

I like 1080P gaming, WUXGA really. I do NOT like computer games on a TV. I don't know what it is, but it doesn't play like consoles. I don't game anymore, but I have been running the same resolution since my Sager/Clevo days.

I want to play WoW classic so bad, but I think that part of my life is just over. A buddy and I rolled new toons at launch a few years back. I ran to 60 and he just never finished. Even when I'd keep a guy at his level or power run him.

I wanted to try Quest 2, but just refused to pull the trigger. I don't need FB integration and don't have a rig to power Steam VR. Now they raised the price. Hard pass.

I think I read after your last post the 3060 isn't much over a 2080TI, but the 3070 and 3080 were really great.

1440p ultrawide for me. i dont think i can ever go back to 16:9 now if im being honest. I get what you mean about using a TV for pc gaming somewhat. If im using a mouse and keyboard its hard to not try to be competitive. Using a controller with games that were designed to use a controller I have no issue with though.

Why not give it a shot again? Find some new people to play with, isn't wow classic free till like level 20? Give you a good time frame to decide if you want to keep going.

I don't know how old you are, but my dad is 53 and showing no signs of stopping playing games. Man has 2,500 hours in Elder Scrolls Online!

Same dude. Im still upset FB bought oculus. I was planning to get one to use with my PC but with the price hike it isn't worth it to me anymore
ls3mach AUG 18, 11:36 AM
Our parents are about the same age.

You ask why not give it another go? Well, you brag about your dad having 2500 hours in Elder Scrolls. Can he speak another language, build a boat, who are his survival skills? Rhetorical and if that's how he wants to spend his free time, that is hunky dory to me. I however have already wasted 100s of days that I'll never remember and have nothing to show. Of the 1000s of hours spent in Azeroth, none are memorable. I did have fun, but a lot of things are fun.

WUXGA was 16:10, not much of a difference, but the extra pixels for actual computer stuff was great. I started running it on a 17" monitor in the XP days so scaling was garbage. If your eyes weren't sharp then you weren't reading the text.

Oculus, UGH. I knew the price was going up, as the announced it. I was already on the fence at the $299. I made a few offers on used ones. I guess I should've not lowballed as much, but I really don't need one. I would be selling it right now to monopolize on the price hike.

I hear people using them for fitness, but the same was said of the Wii. ROFL.
