Except in this case, the "6-year-old" outsmarted the truckers. The truckers want to block traffic... fine, two can play at that game. Downtown Vancouver is basically surrounded by water on three sides, so there's only a limited number of ways to get there. The access routes to downtown were therefore being cut off to large trucks by the cyclists. The general public has learned a lesson from the Ottawa experience... don't let the anarchists gain a foothold!

So.... You are OK with blocking traffic then?[This message has been edited by Fats (edited 02-05-2022).]

Blocking large trucks whose sole purpose was to lay siege to the entire downtown core of major North American port city? Yes, yes indeed. I don't know who was behind the counter-protest strategy of using cyclists to block the trucks, but they deserve an award.

Just a peaceful protest.
Is peacefully protesting in public on public streets against the law in Canada?
It isn't in the USA, but I understand Canada is still under the thumb of Queen Elizabeth the Second.

One bike and no witnesses? Sure, some nutbar might go for it. But ten, twenty, a hundred bikes with riders... complete with police and camera crews? I dunno, might not be so easy to press forward.

Just read the news about a leftist in Winnipeg who rammed the vehicle he was driving into protesting Freedom Convoy pedestrians and hit four of them and also fought the police during the arrest.
Only getting charge with assault apparently. In the USA, the charged would be considered attempted murder, unless it is an SUV, then it's the SUV's fault.

I saw no mention of the guy's political affiliation. Wichita must have his own sources.
