When I don’t feel like listening to my 8 track carousel I go to something far more modern:

I've been a vacuum tube audio guy since the early 70's. I plan to post some hopefully interesting stuff.
1st, in my lake house basement sort of man cave I have this- a rather unassuming 50's Stromberg Carlson mono hifi cabinet. The pre-amp tuner you see is a Fisher 80T.

Around back is the real story- twin Electro-voice 12TRXB's powered by a 70W custom tube amp. The EV speakers are very efficient so 70W goes a long way. Behind the camera in the 1st pic is a garage door- opening it will allow me to really annoy the neighbors!

Something more in tube audio- what you see here are 2 Ampex tape decks. The monster below is an Ampex 351 mono, more than likely, anything recorded in the late 50's was recorded on a deck like this; the stereo version would have 2 of the preamps. The deck on top is an Ampex F44 stereo deck. J. Gordon Holt of Stereophile would use this deck for quite sometime.
