Why does he want to "delete everything". Is he now embarrassed by all the nonsense he's posted here over the years? That's just too bad. Maybe he should've thought about what he was saying when he originally posted it. I've never been a believer of re-writing history.

He's channeling Jazz.
But that's funny AF... Threatening a lawsuit and a cyber attack all in the same breath.

Well there's kind of a plot twist. First of all, full disclosure - here's my reply to him on his last message:
| quote | Dear sir,
Thank you for your message.
I appreciate your offer to delete your content yourself. However, I must reiterate that our forum's policies regarding the removal of user-generated content remain unchanged. As outlined in our Terms of Use, users agree to relinquish certain rights to the content they post.
Furthermore, threats of legal action or the use of automated means to flood the forum with content are unacceptable and go against the principles of our community. Such behavior undermines the integrity of our platform and may have legal consequences.
I want to assure you that we take all threats seriously, and your messages are being documented for further review. It's important to note that our decision to retain forum posts is not only in accordance with our Terms of Use but also with data protection regulations such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which govern the processing of personal data within the European Union and European Economic Area. We will not hesitate to take appropriate action to address any violations of our policies or applicable laws.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out.
Best regards,
Cliff Pennock Pennock's Fiero Forum

To which his reply was:
| quote | Well then i guess its back to planning for legal action. Just dont say i didnt give you a chance, dick. It wont be today, but it will be soon. We will pound you into the poorhouse. As even if we lose the actual suit, we can make sure it costs you more than you have to fight with. Its the way of things.
And as far as flooding once i get around to setting up the bots to flood you with *legal* content, guess what, you are a pubic forum, so you will take what is given. In case you didnt know, your terms of service do not have legal weight. the ONLY recourse you have is to terminate accounts and block access. That is it, nothing more. So dont bother trying to threaten me. This is not my first round with people like you who refuse to cooperate with a simple request.
Oh, and your community? Lol, your community can suck it too. I really dont care about a bunch of old people that talk about crap cars and stupid subjects. its not like im going to be cast out of some special club. I left it long ago, and burnt that pile of crap to the ground. What a waste of time.
And if you want to 'further review' content, review this:
...................../´¯¯/) ...................,/¯.../ .................../..../ .............../´¯/'..'/´¯¯`·¸ .........../'/.../..../....../¨¯\ ..........('(....´...´... ¯~/'..') ...........\..............'...../ ............\....\.........._.·´ .............\..............( ..............\..............\\ |

All the messages I got from him shows me this guy knows dick about national and international law. If he looses the suit, he'll have to pay for all expenses. Even mine. He'll probably have to pay a hefty fine too and I can sue him for all kinds of compensations. But if he truly wants to pursue this legally - bring it on. I am more than prepared.
Also his bot threats are laughable. The way he talks about it (in this and previous messages he sent me) tells me he knows as much about IT as he does about law.
But here is the plot twist:
I just got a message from someone who claims to be the "real" Nurb432. He said he received an email from someone asking why he is doing what he does. But he had no clue what he was talking about. He hadn't been on the forum for around 10 years or so. Now I don't know yet who to believe.
PFF isn't the only forum "Nurb432" has been trying to get all his content deleted from. I know of several other forums where he "requested" the same. All reacted exactly how I did. They can anonymize his posts, but can't/won't delete his posts. He accepted that as a viable solution, just not on PFF. And I'm not sure why. He also deleted his online presence on many more sites - not only forums.
But yeah, This is getting a bit strange. If the "real" Nurb432 is reading this, I mean, the "Nurb432" who is claiming he doesn't know what the hell is going on, shoot me an email.

Yes. The only difference with being banned is that you still have access to your private messages.

I mean, I've asked too... specifically, I was like... Cliff, look man... I joined when I was 18. Would you mind deleting everything I've said on T/OT over the past 25 years? I'd really, really appreciate it. He was like... nope!
Not much I can do about it, but to a point, I understand it... I'd encourage you all to NOT go look up the stuff I've probably said when I was 18/19 on here. I mean, it's amazing I even made it to age 25. I was a good kid, to be sure.. but not the most responsible or "filtered."
I've also grown a lot, both emotionally, mentally, and politically. I was pretty left-leaning too (at least what it meant to be left back then)... and said a lot of stuff about the government. Yeah... you know... "kids."
I think for him (Nurb), he probably has other things "going on," and wants to remove them from his past.

By the way, I will anonymize his messages, because that is the only thing I am obliged to do under the GDPR. But his request was to do it within 30 days, so I still have a few days left to do so. 😁

When did you ask me that? Did you ask through email or PM? Because I can't find it in my private messages (and mine go back a while 😉).
But yeah, I've said some pretty stupid things too in the early years of the interwebs. And I even said those things using my own name. They probably can still be found if you look for it, but I don't feel the need to have that removed. It's who I was back then. Young and uninformed. And sometimes plain stupid. I'm not ashamed of that at all, it's something every person on earth goes through - a period of stupidity! 😄
I don't even delete or edit out my posts here on PFF. I've been in many discussion where I later found out I was either over reacting or just plain wrong. But I'm not ashamed of that at all. It shows I'm human just like anyone else. I don't feel the need to edit my online presence just so it looks like I'm the perfect individual.

Wonder if something popped up in a "character assessment analysis" by a prospective employer / client / etc. Problem is all that stuff is already out there in the electronic ooze, don't know if deleting posts here would fix that.

It was on 04-06-2022 11:55 AM, more or less said you can't do a "bulk delete" and that I'd have to tell you specifically which ones if there was something I said that ... perhaps didn't translate well in the future, haha. Anyway, I understand...

Aaah, yes found it! 😁 I have the memory of a 🐟
Yes, I can't/won't delete all posts from a specific member but I can delete individual posts. But not if that means it will disrupt the flow of the thread. For instance, if your post is an elaborate answer to a tech question, and you end the post with your name and address, I will not delete the post. But I can, upon request, delete that private information.
But in all honesty, I'm not even obliged to do that. The poster is fully responsible for the information he posts. Also, by posting, he is putting the information in the public domain and is waiving all copyrights to it unless he specifically specifies otherwise.
