CyberTruck.... (Page 4/4)

Was just at my Ram dealership having an alignment done along with a pre-paid oil change/tire rotation.

While there, I was talking to the sales manager. They also sell Jeeps. He told me he had three EV Jeeps, the luxury versions (sorry, I don't remember the names). Said he couldn't sell them, they had been on the lot for over a year. He told me he sold one about a year and a half ago. The customer took it home and while trying to re-charge the battery with the approved re-charging system he bought, it was blowing every circuit in his house.

That customer now drives his EV about 170 miles and then brings it back to the dealership and gets it re-charged for free. Needless to say, that sales manager hates EVs.
I can't state that this story is true but, I can say it was relayed to you as it was told to me.

A friend has a Cadillac Lyriq, an electric SUV. The damned thing looks like a refugee from a video arcade. It actually plays music outside when you put it in reverse.

They have a charger in their garage, but apparently there is another battery, he called it a starter battery. Well, the car is less than a year old and that other battery has failed a couple of times and without it, the doors won't even open.

Remember when if you lost your keys, you could open the door with a coat hanger then hot wire it? Or push start it if the battery went dead?

Progress, folks.

Yes Many EV have a 12v battery & these are often lead based on top of LiIon HV battery for the motors. Is for same as Fiero & more that uses as standby power to BCM etc.

Apparently this happen to many Lyriq & other GM EV owners.

I think electric vehicles have a place, and they can certainly be successful (and have been to a degree). But as always, the Government puts its thumb down to try to sway the market, and just screws everything up.
