like this guy for example he may or may not have been a flat earth guy and more so he just wanted to fly a rocket on someone else's dime... I think the chance of shilling flat earth for fame and or fortune is a very very large part of it as everyone in the community seems to be fighting for a spot as the "famous" guy in the movement. In some cases people sell things related to it but I'd say its more about the social power aspects of it.
