"But he matches my one criteria so that is all that matters...."

I understand what you are saying, but the reality of this situation is that we ABSOLUTELY DEPEND on restrictions on who we accept. For example, would a competent President go to the unemployment line to pick some random unemployed person for a nomination? Obviously not, we expect the a nomination be restricted to "qualified" persons. So that begs the question "what are the qualifications?". The answer to that is varied for person to person and believes to believes. Me for example believe that rbg was one of the worst examples of a SCOTUS next to the current Justice sm. The reason being that they judge on emotion not the Constitution. So I would look for a Justice with a VERY strong belief in the foundation of America and it's Constitution,...NOT the ever changing trends and social fashions. If the justice system is truly blind, we shouldn't have to hire blind Justices. We look for and hire competent Justices who listen to arguments and weigh them against the Constitution.

Justice Breyer officially announced his retirement at the White House yesterday.

He has always seen himself as nonpartisan.

His record on the SCOTUS bench says otherwise, but he has always claimed he is nonpartisan.

Here are Justice Breyer's comments yesterday:

OUCH That has to really sting the Leftists.

Breyer talks about the importance of the CONSTITUTION and the rule of LAW as the foundational values of this country.

He even waves around his pocket copy for emphasis.......( like waving a crucifix at Leftist vampires in the room )

THEN he glowingly talks about Abraham Lincoln, the first Republican president of the United States, one of the founding fathers of the Republican party and the president who presided over the defeat of the Demorat insurrectionists and signed the proclamation and law that freed their slaves.

THEN he goes on to quote from Lincoln's Gettysburg Address along with cautioning about a civil war.

Obviously NOT the lunatic Leftist wokester BS that Brandon of his handlers / caregivers was probably expecting or wanted.

Well played Justice Breyer...well played.

Qualifications are not restrictions.

Saying it has to be a black woman is a restriction on who you select.

Yes affirmative action is a form of racism and yes that is a restriction. Racism restricts the pool of talent to only those of a chosen race, just like qualifications restrict the pool of talent to people with qualifications. Asking for qualified people is just as much of a "restriction" as asking for a race of persons. One is morally and professionally acceptable and one is not. But both weed out people who do not fit the employers job expectations. Both affirmative action and asking for legitimate job qualifications restrict the potential employees to a preferred pool of candidates. The preferences are the restrictions.
But again, I understand what you are saying.

The qualification that needs to be addressed is the lack of Protestant White males on the Court.

I don't think he's capable of that sort of logical thinking. I'm not sure he even knows his name, a significant portion of the time. (But thank God he won the "Senate", this time. )

That was such an awesome trip... not the plumber's crack, but Palo Duro Canyon. The family loved it. Honestly... I loved it more than the Grand Canyon, seriously... can't say that enough. It was awesome.

Brandon has the cognitive abilities of a potted plant, that's why his handlers / caregivers decided:

"Biden also announced that Vice President Kamala Harris will be advising him on the selection process for a nominee, putting to rest speculation Harris would be chosen to fill the vacancy."

"Biden says that Kamala Harris, "an exceptional lawyer," will advise him in the decision on who to nominate to the Supreme Court." pic.twitter.com/feRJhehKNk

So there ya go kids. Have no fear, the Laughing Hyena is hot on the job of finding someone for Brandon's SCOTUS Affirmative Action Program.
