Pride is a very strong emotion... and for many people, admitting that the party has basically become a clown school is admitting that you've been wrong the entire time.
There will still be people who will continue to vote Democrat simply because they don't know any better.
There will also still be people who will continue to vote Democrat, even though they know this isn't working out right now, but they feel very strongly about very progressive ideologies.
There will also still be people who vote Democrat because they've always done this, even if they don't know.
But there are a LOT of people who, over the years, voted for Democrats with only a vague understanding of what they supported, and are being directly affected right now... and negatively. These people are not only candidates for flipping their vote, but are very likely to vote Republican this year. The thing for many of these people is overcoming the stigma, and that is:
- Their friends will criticize them (even if some of them are quietly voting Republican as well) - They've been raised to believe Democrat = good, Republican = bad.
... but ask any Cuban that's fled Cuba, there's no better lesson than actually living Communism / Socialism.

We agree quite a bit
Here's my take on "parties" I see them as somewhat like a ball team, members change. Principles ideas and actions are what matter, not labels. If the players are messed up/wrong, the team is messed up/wrong, if the players are ineffective so is the team. The only other purpose they serve is to limit the choices, effectively making many voters choose what they see as the lesser evil becuase thats all they think has a chance to win. If I have friends who disagree with why I vote the way I do, and they care enough to ask about it, have the guts to argue about it, its up to them if they would like to remain friends. But if they have the current "progressive ideologies" you spoke of, personally I know I cannot trust them, or rely on them. If they just ignore arguments and will not justify their reasons, I cannot respect them either. Especially if they actually live by those same twisted and wrong principles and beliefs, and promote them.[This message has been edited by 2.5 (edited 12-22-2021).]

Totally. If tomorrow, the Democrats totally rejected Socialism, and embraced the ideals of Ronald Reagan, etc... I'd vote Democrat tomorrow (if I knew I could trust them).

When I want to make sure people are healthy, I usually force them to stay indoors, close all of the gyms, and stop them from working and seeing their friends and family. I also keep them in a continuous state of dread, uncertainty, and anxiety.
This is for their health. Clearly.

The government and sheep will never allow this to end. Helpful hint: there will always be another variant.

When Slow Joe goes on TV and announces the "Optimus Prime" variant everyone might finally realize that they've been played.......they might.[This message has been edited by randye (edited 12-22-2021).]

Donald J. Trump, "MD"
Biden would really have to go some to even approach the sheer phoniness and total imbecility of Trump's "disinfectant moment."
Whatever else can be said about the Trump administration and Covid, the 45th President of the United States went on-air and in front of microphones and reporters, time and time again, with ridiculous utterances about Covid. His "disenfectant moment" was only one such instance, although I believe it's the most remembered one.

It's always hilarious when you so proudly parade your utter ignorance for everyone to see.

President Trump has been mocked relentlessly for suggesting that ultraviolet light could be brought “inside the body” to kill the coronavirus, but there is ongoing research to do just that.
For example, the pharmaceutical firm Aytu BioScience announced on April 20, four days before the Trump remarks, that it has signed an exclusive licensing deal with Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. The center has developed and is testing a UV-A “Healight” designed to be inserted via a catheter inside the trachea to kill pathogens, including the coronavirus.

Brief Summary:
Since ARDS is a major complication of COVID - 19 with subsequent formation of non-cardiogenic pulmonary edema , worsening the oxygenation of the patients and foamy and even bloody sputum formation, so the idea is to use alcohol inhalation as it reduce surface tension on the alveoli and markedly decrease sputum formation with improvement on oxygenation beside its cytolethal effect on virus lipid bilayer (a/k/a "disinfectant")

SARS-CoV-2 is a new pandemic influenza caused by a coronavirus which main route of transmission is through exhaled droplets that primarily infect the nose and the nasopharynx. The aim of this paper is to evaluate the effect of acetic acid, the active component of vinegar, as a potential disinfectant agent for upper airways.[This message has been edited by randye (edited 12-23-2021).]

It is genuinely frustrating when someone is trying to do something good, bring light to information that very few others in the public know about... like Trump's comments in that recording... and people who know even less (the general public) are exploited by the purposeful malignant media to make him look stupid and dumb. It helps no one, at all... we all suffer because of it.
