I don't disagree, for the most part. However I will point out that I am not focused on omicron, the people freaking out are.
Also, the delta version is not more deadly, it is more contagious and by sheer numbers of infections has tallied more deaths. The alpha version of the man-made covid is the most deadly and least transmissable of them. The "experts" seem to be unanimous in opinion that omicron is even more contagious. This might be true? But if it is true then there is nothing for the vaccinated to worry about, because this variation isn't even killing off the unvaccinated.
People have died from the flue long before covid19 and will no doubt continue in the future, just like people will die from the man made covid and it's variations NO MATTER how many lockdowns, travel restrictions and other such freakouts happen.

No country is going to completely "stop" a virus from spreading, but without even looking it up, I dare say that COVID deaths per capita are no doubt much lower in Australia than they are in the States.

Okay, curiosity got the better of me. I looked up COVID-19 deaths worldwide per one million population as of December 13, 2021 for the US, Australia, and Canada.
Australia ----- 83.03
Canada ----- 797.14
USA ------ 2,418.09
Maybe you can't give them any credit, but it seems to me that the Aussies are doing pretty damn well as the "most locked down Nation on Earth".

Talk about gullible; Anyone who watches Fox/Russia or OANN/Russia is a putin soldier helping to destroy America. Trump did everything he could to spread the virus for his puppet master and you guys keep saying "No he didn't! The virus doesn't even exist! It's all fake news- I get the truth from Putin-certified news outlets!"
Amazing how the "Commie" foreign nations are controlling Covid while we are having so much trouble.....Looking back at other pandemics we have worked together to control and limit the spread- but now we have "Friend" putin telling the right to not wear masks or get vaccine ("They are part of a COMMIE plot!!!!!") while the idiot left is led down the opposite path with stupidity like "Defund the cops"
I see why the "Right" think so highly of putin; He is destroying America and western civilization without firing a shot.

Patrick, lock downs are not the reason for death rates. There are many factors that decide the outcome or numbers. I have already said that America is an unhealthy population, we are over weight lazy and popping pills for everything under the sun. Given the average age of covid deaths is something in the range of 80 years old, how many 80 year Olds are in great shape in America? Another way to look at this is that America has a huge population of elderly people?
Lock downs are a tool, not a cure. I do not choose to use this tool.
