Who's optimistic?
Just a question that comes to mind for me.
I'm more optimistic about the overall patterns of life across the U.S. than I was at the very beginning of November 6, 2020.
But that's a politically "loaded" remark, for sure.[This message has been edited by rinselberg (edited 12-23-2020).]

Beleive me, there are a LOT more dangerous and risky professions than being in the military, even during combat. The strength of this nation is the will and determination of it's everday people to persevere as a nation of peoples no matter what lies ahead or how difficlut the struggle is. Not the ecomomy, not the military, not the law enforcement sector, not the federal or state govts. It's that intangible within each of us that as a collective unit that makes and keeps us strong.

That is not to question your patriotism but, you are correct in that choices do have consequences.

Please explain how that applies in the context of the original question you asked to me. Don't be afraid to speak your mind.[This message has been edited by maryjane (edited 12-24-2020).]

My mom used to paint on canvas. The result was pretty acceptable but if you watched the process of her painting you'd see she had to repaint and repaint and sometimes start over to finally get a point where it looked acceptably decent.

You know that TV spot that's been running for Uber Eats, where Mark Hamill says "tomato" with a long "a" and Patrick Stewart says "tomato" with a short "a", and then they're facing off, Stewart wielding a two-by-four and Hamill with a baseball bat, and Stewart taunts him menacingly with "Careful now, Daddy's not here to save you" and Hamill glowers back with "Oh, I am my Daddy" and a suddenly baffled Patrick Stewart lets loose with "Wait--what are you talking about?"... Yeah. It's like that, 'mash.
"What are you talking about?"
If you shortened your screen name to "Mash" you'd not only be a fairly memorable theater-length movie, but a long running, episodic, fictional TV series that was inspired by it.[This message has been edited by rinselberg (edited 12-24-2020).]

No, you're not. In the slightest. Your just a sanctimonious entitled prick snowflake who thinks you're special because of an accident of birth.
