Thanks for the update. It's wonderful news during an otherwise horrible last 24 hours for me.

Stay strong little Rumorling!

I'm picturing her benchpressing tiny barbells and running in a cute little sports training montage.

Thanks for the update.

Glad to hear she is doing well, and oh ya, I still don't believe you had a little girl without pictures, where the pictures?

Good vibes she grows a long, long, long time.

She'll make it. When I was born I was about the same amount premie, I weighed just under 3 pounds and sick as a dog. I spent 3.5 MONTHS in an incubator with a bilirubin lamp and enough tubes to liquid cool a decent desktop, and actually lost almost 4 oz. After I was able to go home, I had almost weekly checkups and at the 3 week(Was actually my 4-month-ish) checkup and I had tripled my birth weight and I had more than doubled that weight by my 2 month checkup (following natural progression this was really 6 month checkup). Yeah.. I went from ~2.75 pounds to almost 25 in under 2 months. That was in 1983. Technology has reached the point where you shouldn't have any issues. *insert not-concerned smiley here* But seriously, hope everything continues to work out.

OBTW: I'm now 6'1 and weigh almost 300 pounds at 32 years old. I think I turned out just fine.

PS. Priya is an interesting name. Is there a meaning behind it?

Thank you so much for sharing that. On the interwebs, you find a LOT of bad/sad stories, those folks whose stories have happy endings are too busy being happy to sit down and elaborate... know what I mean?

Nice guns.

Priya means "Beloved." it was on my list of possible girl names, and after she arrived, and received such an outpouring of love, it was an easy decision to make.

Here she is. Look at those eyes. Those are the eyes of a FIGHTER...

I think she looks good here. Just chillin'. Just sorta waiting to get big enough to get home and start twisting me around her finger...(too late!)

I also hear her voice "Don't let me down, Daddy."

We have had a few 'serious' choices to make, and in contemplating these choices, I have discovered something interesting about life. Well, MY life, at least...

Before I took the turn onto the "road to IT', I was heavy into biology. Did a few stints at a world-renown research facility. I SO loved those times. I was like Doogie Howser... looking back, I sometimes felt bad about not pursuing that path, and felt I had wasted my time, even though I was still sorta "finding myself"...

But I have come to realize that all of that back then - ALL the stuff I did... the research, going on rounds, tweaking formulas, 'looking for possible alternatives'... all that I did back then was to help me be able to help my daughter NOW.
It was a suddenly sobering moment when I realized that.

I make sure I am at rounds each day when they discuss my daughter's progress. I am there to make sure NOTHING falls though the cracks.

That's my job, as her dad.

I don't take this stuff lightly. ANY of it.

Something came up, a major thing. and there were options.
I advocated for them to do something not commonly done in the US anymore (due to reasons other than the treatment's superior effectiveness) and it WORKED. I had faith in the studies. I had faith in the science. I had faith.

I am lucky I did that reboot just prior to all of this happening , and have found ways to eek enough sleep and (for the most part) decent eating, and that I am able to balance life and work and all this other stuff. It's not easy, I give props to so many folks who deal with personal struggles... I'm just kinda tossing this all out there to folks who know me here, and hopefully, even one person will read the stuff I write and will decide to keep on fighting another day...or maybe build 30 boxes and stay on this side of the ground another month...

Goodnight folks.

-TDA
