Well... that'll quite possibly lessen the chances of someone shouting out "Freebird!" at a live concert.
<snip> Normally, I hate live music recorded at concerts, as the audio quality usually sucks...,snip>Rock on!
True, but not this one especially in MoFi Original Master form from 1979. still sounds amazing!

One of my favorite albums and possibly the greatest rock band that ever lived. I have seen them countless times, starting back in the days of Lowell George.

Arrrggghhh! Don't scare me like that! I still have nightmares about trying to learn the piano solo in "Dixie Chicken" in much too short of time.[This message has been edited by css9450 (edited 06-28-2024).]

Even Neon Park's album covers are among the best ever made. I have always loved "Waiting for Columbus", "Down on the Farm" and "Weasels Ripped My Flesh".

They were all masters. Sadly, Lowell George, Richie Hayward and Paul Barrere are gone.
This was one of those songs that would always completely absorb me. It was captivating. They would play it at almost every show for many years and it was always new and different.

I'm exhausted just trying to watch that! Billy Payne is a monster.
Fun fact: I was hung up on a few points on that song, since I had nothing in the way of sheet music and I had to learn it all by ear, so I asked a few questions on a keyboard-specific music forum. One of the guys who helped me was a guy who had played a few times with the real Little Feat band, as a substitute for the real Billy Payne. I guess that's as close to the genuine article as I'm gonna get!

Little Feat..Any of you guys remember LaserRock from the later 70's? Laser light show choreographed to a R&R score. In Philly for the 76 Bicentennial they constructed The Living History Center which included a beautiful IMax theater with an equally beautiful Altec sound system. On Saturday nights, they started showing LaserRock. That show in 77 is when I heard LF for the first time- "Day At The Dog Races" from "Time Loves A Hero" (great LP). Blew me away, especially coming from those Altecs. Great percussion.

They were the only band I ever saw that could equal Zappa in a live performance.
They were one of those bands who never had to "put on a show", they just got up there and played. And left everyone mesmerized.[This message has been edited by williegoat (edited 06-29-2024).]
