F-1 is race saturday Q is 11 EST TODAY new season new cars (Page 3/5)

Approx' 20 years ago I was reading about the latest F1 cars in R&T and came up with what I think would have been a good idea; All car companies back then were making 2 L 4-cylinder engines.....so make the basic engine rule for F1 that you must use an engine available to the masses 1) 2 Liter, 2) Four valve, and the only mods would be carb/injection, cams and headers.

Also, I have always found it kind of ridiculous that the original intent of "Open-wheel" racing was to IMPROVE aerodynamics- yet the absolute worst thing about modern F1 cars aerodynamically is those exposed wheels/tires....so also, I think the F1 race cars should be limited to 8" wide wheels which would cut the tires down in width to approx' 8-9"...

Obviously, the cars would be slower, but the emphasis would be on the >>DRIVERS SKILL<<

Oh... I disagree. I like the CanAm cars... and prototype racing, and all that...

But can you tell me the first several cars in this video don't just sound absolutely amazing???

That is indeed a great commercial short film.

I know you will like the first example (1957) in the following video:

The engine has always been my favorite part of any machine. There is something compelling, something primal about orchestrated explosions. Regardless of the configuration, from big, slow turning radials to nitro burning speedway Jawas, to me, it is literally music.

If you fire up an engine and look over your shoulder, there I will be with my camera.

B-25?

2600 RPMs isn't all that slow for any radial.

Girl friend? No. A female employee who accused him of sexual harassment. It was investigated and he was aquitted of any wrongdoings by an independent group.

then somebody released some pictures and the mess is restarting about that

Nowadays it's of course incredibly easy to falsify pictures (with AI) and chances are that is exactly what happened.

some think jos max's dad is behind the release to get max out of red bull and into hams empty M-B next year

That's just stupid. Neither Max nor Jos want Max to leave Red Bull. And Max most certainly won't ever go to Mercedes. And why would he? Red Bull is built around Max now. At Mercedes, he'll have to start all over again building a team around him not to mention he'll have an inferior car. Verstappen Sr and Christian Horner might not be the best of friends but they are most certainly not each other's enemies.

as honda is going and ford coming to replace honda at red bull

So? Ford used be a huge force in F1 with their Cosworth engines. They're no noobs.

horner is a a good team manager but the real genius is newey the designer not horner at red bull

Utter, utter BS. Red Bull would not be the team it is today without Horner. He is the glue that holds the team together. Don't forget he is the longest sitting team principal. Newey wouldn't even be working for Red Bull if it wasn't for Horner. Trust me, if Horner goes, Newey goes.

newey's f-1 cars have won for many other teams he is the big player at red bull

He is one of the big players at Red Bull. There's Horner, Marko, Newey, Waché, et all. Take any of them away and Red Bull collapses. And I think that's what's behind all this. I think this is coming from outside Red Bull, not within. Sure there's friction between Marko and Horner, but both are smart enough to know that one can not survive without the other.

Again, I think somebody (as in some group) from the outside is trying to break the synergy within Red Bull.

Yep, "Mitch the Witch II", though at that moment, it was painted as "Mitch the Witch", possibly for a movie. I took that picture at Scottsdale Airport about 30 years ago.

newey f-1 record

Newey is regarded by many to be one of the greatest engineers in Formula One history; his designs have won numerous titles and more than 200 Grands Prix. Newey is the most successful designers, winning twelve Constructors' Championships with three different Formula One teams, and with seven different drivers winning thirteen Drivers' Championships driving Newey's designs wiki

plus a few indy wins too back went they did not run kit cars like now

horner is a manager not a designer LEGEND

NEWEY IS THE MAN his cars win year after year at different teams

FORD was good with cosworth long ago with v8's
their later turbo's sucked both 4 and v6 versions never won a race or pole
it took honda 3 long years to get a winner and honda's last turbo motor was CWC + DWC dominate motor

my dad was a ford guy who work for Henry on the hyd drive
I like ford motor sports but fear the first few years for them with a NEW f-1 motor
I think max and jos know when honda leaves after 2025 the times will change

and ham jumped to the dull red seat

so the M-B seat will open and they are the best long term bet
with history and cash both pay and for the team
while redbull is know to be low paying incentive based bonus deal
if the ford is a dud and will be at first so no more bonus or less anyway

best driver seeks best car

I can see max for millions at Mercedes in a year or so

some of the red bull team BS is a CORPrat fight between the austrians and a SE Asian invest group for control
that has zip to do with F-1 or the team just money/control power
both side had other HEAD guys in charge who died
so maybe the drive / fight for control is in both groups and vs each other too

soap opera for sure

Twenty years ago, I was Director of Safety for a flatbed carrier which had the opportunity to haul some Red Bull race airplanes.

The racers were brought in to Sky Harbor on a cargo jet.

Flatbed ain't regular trucking.
