Well, I don't care for the dozens of kitchen gadget sale channels, the weight loss crap, all the Spanish language stations or (currently) the medicare plan stations, or 99% of the sport stations but there they are. My current bill informed there is a $5.56 increase going forward, so I may just drop Direct Tv altogether and go with Rabbit Ear Network. (honestly, I don't watch very much TV anyway, usually a station called Ovation here, that is almost all BBC murder & detective programming such as Midsomer Murder and Death in Paradise. I would only watch news on TV in an event such as a state or national emergency. I get my news from internet..Reuters most of the time)

No... Ray... ugh. Chill out for a second. Please listen to me. The TV you have does not have "all the streams built in" like Roku. Whatever TV you have, likely only has some basic stuff, Tubi, Amazon, Netflix, etc. That's not at ALL what I'm talking about.
Get yourself a Roku device...
Please read this: https://www.roku.com/what-is-roku
And then get one of these for your TV: https://www.roku.com/products/players
This is a list of the free channels: https://www.roku.com/blog/live-tv-channel-guide
There are so many Ray, I can't even explain... they have all the news channels, from the ones you hate, to the ones you like... like Democracy Now, and whatever else... all the grass-roots liberal ones. They're all on there. And they're all free.
Just chill out for a second, please take a look and let me know what you think. You only pay once for the device (like $35 bucks) and then every once in a while you're graced with some pharmaceutical advertisement about whatever the latest thing is. But otherwise it's completely free... and they do the ads in place of the ads that would otherwise be playing on the channel you're watching. They have everything from HGTV to ESPN, to whatever... just trust me.

I've got a 65" Samsung that has over 250 channels built in and there still is not a single thing I want to watch. It just ends up being a huge monitor for Kodi.

Maybe once a month, there will be an old movie (like from the '30s or '40s) that I turn on, then end up ignoring it. On a related note, 81 years ago today was the premiere of my favorite movie: Casablanca.
