Oh goody. Butt-Boy and company...... I have to assume the lead guy is supposed to represent the "fat Elvis' days and not the Elvis of the 50s and 60s..

I like a lot of different music- but I dislike some music that a lot of people do like. That is OK....My main wheel-house is Album Rock; I liked that the albums were generally based around some theme, and yet the musicians would experiment and do a number of different types of music- slow, soft, hard, fast...and utterly ridiculous at times.
One thing I just can't stand though, is the "Act" that most concerters do nowadays; The fancy (Yet ungainly) dancing, fancy costumes, etc. I like the musicians who wrote the song/music to perform it, in regular street clothes, and (Basically) no jumping around.
I know, my fav band is Queen and Freddy jumped around on stage- I was into them mainly for Brian May (Guitarist) and Roger Taylor (Drummer)...At least Freddy looked relatively graceful- I can't stand to watch Mick Jagger on stage; He makes a chicken-with-it's-head-cut-off look good in comparison.

What's your point? I don't see Bob Dylan or Igor Stravinsky listed there either. You might need to have a word with Willie.

One hundred years from now, when the conversation turns to music, only two of those five will be remembered for their music: Igor Stravinsky and Bob Dylan.

| quote | | Stravinsky changed the musical world. The masterpieces he wrote revolutionised 20th-century music and spanned all genres, from orchestral to choral, and opera to ballet. |

| quote | | Often referred to as the Shakespeare of his generation, Bob Dylan is a songwriter and performer not easily equaled. A prolific writer, Dylan has rewritten history by becoming the first songwriter to win the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2016. |

You will find Stravinsky or Dylan on many lists of composers or songwriters.
Tell me about Madona's lasting legacy.[This message has been edited by williegoat (edited 11-15-2022).]

But they're not on Don's best guitarist list.

Why would I wish to do that?

Maybe you'll like this one better. But I doubt it.

And more to the point, they don't have a need to contort their faces either.

This girl's name is Haruka Kikuchi. They call her "The Queen of the Tailgate Trombone". I love her facial expressions, particularly her eyes during the refrains in this video.
The term "tailgate trombone" is derived from the practice in the late 19th and early 20th century in the US, where brass bands might ride through town on a horse drawn wagon. The trombone player always sat on the tailgate, so as to have plenty of room for the slide. This was a period when early jazz and ragtime were just coming into their own and so the term refers to trombone played in that style.
