Nah, just kidding, haha. This has been a phenomenon that's been around for a while (people thinking they're being targeted). I mean, government/foreign government agencies DO target people from time to time, but you'd have to be a terrorist, a criminal, etc... not Joe Blow middle class white guy living in Vancouver.
Just like in the flat Earth community, I'd have to assume that the majority of these people suffer from some level of mental illness, and the rest are doing it for attention. I think "targeted individuals" is a really good case study for psychology. Under most situations (let's say... ~25 years ago before the internet), most of these people would have received some kind of treatment and / or help... and would have recovered. But today, with the internet, these people are reinforcing their beliefs by finding other individuals who also suffer from similar psychosis. Rather than getting help, they all build upon their psychosis and reinforce each other. Just like the flat earth people, they each have a totally different conspiracy as to their conspiracy, or why they've been targeted. At no point do they seem to question why everyone's situation is a little bit different, they all just seem to pick and choose their psychosis... whether that's CIA Mind Control, or NSA Nanobots, or some other crap. This video is in the UK, so probably less relevant to us, but it's interesting none the less.

I dunno what most Flat Earth people are like, as i only know one..
He was a friend of my older brothers, they grew up together. I don't know him well, just from when i was little growing up. Always seemed like a normal dude. About 15 years ago, he actually won like 3 or 4 million bucks from the lottery, and moved down to south America (no idea why) .. Now he's this cooky flat earth guy. Pretty sure all he does is sit at home and drinks and does drugs. (my brother said he does A LOT of LSD) But all you gotta do is ask him about Flat Earth and he'll go into this manic tirade all about it.. He's pretty much a living stereotype for conspiracy theory loonies. Picture a guy in jeans, no shirt, wearing a bathrobe, haven't shaved or washed himself in weeks/months, ranting about crazy **** .. Yeah.. That's him..
