So, my thoughts on this after reading a bunch of articles.

Here are my thoughts on who should be a Supreme Court Justice, tell me if I'm wrong in any way:

My Belief: A SCJ should be an individual who can look at a law or case presented, and validate whether or not the law is faithfully executed in accordance with the US Constitution and other Constitutionally-binding orders and decisions. The individual should make the decision purely from a logic-based approach by reading the language of the US Constitution and statutes, and preside accordingly.]

Democrats: A SCJ needs to provide representation to individual groups. E.g. there is no black woman, or LGBT on the Supreme Court, so one must be elected for proper representation of that group. Decisions should be rendered to further the progress of these groups in changing times.

Interested in others opinions, if I'm misrepresenting or am wrong about this?

There are persons who can be nominated that have passing grades against both of those two separately delineated sets of criteria. Biden would have known that when he made his campaign promise to put a Black woman on the Supreme Court.

Would you accept a brain surgeon who got a "passing grade"? A guy who was in the bottom 20%?
It might be OK for a landscaper, but I would not even hire a plumber who only just barely passed the test.
For a position as important as a Supreme Court Justice, we should seek excellence. Mediocrity is for the cashier at the Circle K.

Wait until someone is nominated.

Until that happens, we're just looking at a blank canvas and imagining a painting.

Has Biden put anyone on the federal bench to date that you don't like?

That is true...

What is really TRUE is what a certain goat alluded to earlier in this thread, but it looks like it just sailed right over some heads here...

Maybe we should wait until Justice Bryer actually announces that he is retiring.

https://townhall.com/tipshe...o-leaked-it-n2602412

The 2021 – 2022 Supreme Court term will end on the first Monday of October this year

SCOTUS Justices have traditionally waited until AFTER or approx. 6 months or less before the end of a current court term to make any retirement announcement. They have done that out an abundance of judicial ethical prudence, not for some political bullshittery. This has the unmistakable stench of Leftist political manipulation all over it.

NOTE: There isn't anything Constitutionally or procedurally that prevents a president from making a nomination and the Senate from conducting it's due diligence on a nominee ahead of the actual retirement date of a Justice, however attempting to push through a nominee the better part of almost a full year ahead of the actual retirement of a sitting justice in this case is obviously nothing more than posturing ahead the 2022 Congressional midterm elections.

The Lefties don't want a repeat of Ginsberg rotting away on the bench and losing another seat so they're more than happy to help shove 83 year old Breyer out the door if they can.

In another thread, I quoted Tolkien: "Not all those who wander are lost"

The reason the Bromberg song is relevant is because in some of his earlier performances from the mid '70s, he would occasionally toss in a reference to John Sirica. Did anyone notice the bumper sticker on the snare drum?

When you put a restriction on who you are going to accept, you can't garuntee you are getting the best.

" I am going to hire a plumber who is at least 6'6"."

"But Lite, there is only one plumber in the area who is that tall and he has horrible reviews."

"But he matches my one criteria so that is all that matters...."

The cashier at CircleK is pretty damn important at 3am when you pull over and just gotta get a cup of coffee but find the selfish old truck driver from Arizona just filled his giant thermos and emptied the coffee dispenser..or some dorf locked the bathroom door as they exited.

How the heck does a 6'6" plumber get under a kitchen sink?
(besides, he'd have a butt crack the size of Palo Duro canyon....who the heck wants to walk in their kitchen and see THAT?
