Also carry a LCP when the DB won't fit in the pocket of the pants worn at the time. Springfield XDS .45 inside waistband when heading to the bad part of town.

Had 2 LCP with each type of laser. I liked the Crimson Trace better,

Everyone may not agree with or like this but, I looked at this today and was somewhat impressed. No, it's not a weapon I'd take hunting and expect to bring a grizzly down with but, for home protection, I'm thinking this might be nice to have close to the bedside table.

My younger brother has a Ruger Single Six chambered in .45 Long Colt. Due to the strength of the gun, he loads ammo that is close to .44 Mag and has hunted deer with it successfully.
Not a revolver, but there are quite a few folks around here that use single shot hand guns chambered for rifle cartridges to hunt with.

The only revolver that I own is a Ruger Single Six .22 Mag/.22LR convertible that my older brother built. In the early 60's, he called and told Ruger what he wanted to do and asked to buy a .22LR cylinder. They told him it couldn't be done due to cylinder timing and refused to sell one. He bought a used cylinder from someone and converted it. About six months later, Ruger was marketing them.

As far as I can see, revolvers are quite reliable, especially single actions.

Get the raging version, and get 6 shots of .454 Casull to take the bear down.

I've heard of guys loading this with .410 Honady triple defense and .45 every other chamber for home use.

Longer the barrel the better, and stick with the "handgun" line of 410 shells with heavy shot optimized for that shorter barrel. Example: Federal .410 Handgun 000 buckshot

That video speaks volumes about what's most effective on stopping an intruder.
