He fled with so much cash it wouldn't all fit in his helicopter. Seems reasonable to me.

The Western-backed former Afghan leader, Ashraf Ghani, departed his country with so much money that it couldn’t all fit on his helicopter, and he was forced to leave some cash at the airport, the Russian Embassy in Kabul has said. Speaking to RIA Novosti, its spokesman Nikita Ishchenko dubbed Ghani’s escape an “eloquent characterization” of the fall of the “regime.”
“Four cars were stuffed with money. [They] tried to fit all the money on the helicopter, but not all of it fit. Some of the money was left lying on the tarmac,” he explained, without elaborating how he obtained the information.

| quote | | One reason foreign donors inflate their own importance in Afghanistan is that they do not understand the informal [Afghan] economy, and the vast amounts of hidden money in the war zone. Trafficking in opium, hashish, methamphetamines and other narcotics is not the biggest kind of trade that happens off the books: The real money comes from the illegal movement of ordinary goods, like fuel and consumer imports. In size and sum, the informal economy dwarfs international aid. |

"TROUBLETOWN'S E-Z GUIDE TO FRIENDS & FOES IN THE REGION"
This the title of an old cartoon from Lloyd Dangle. A satirical political cartoon about U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East and Afghanistan during the presidency of George W. Bush.
It's a great cartoon, but I can't find an image of it anywhere. I searched online with Google. I searched my own hard disk.
If anyone were able to find it, they likely would not be disappointed. Considering they would have started from here. Anyone who would be looking at this particular forum topic.
It's a great cartoon.
"Trust me."
