One very concrete way of not being set up is this:
"There is no accurate DUI test. However, impaired driving due to marijuana use is a problem. In many states with legal recreational marijuana, there has been an increase in DUI accidents since the legalization of marijuana. Without an accurate way to test for marijuana, those states will continue to have issues with DUIs." https://www.chadbanklaw.com...ui-roadside-testing/
There are many other over arcing ways we are not "set up". There are ways we can never be set up. The above is one concrete example, though it is minor in my eyes out of all the others out there, it is concrete, and easy to see.

It will be legalized nationally. AOC just made it clear that the banning of marijuana is racist. Anything that gets tagged as racist has to be remedied immediately. I'm looking for white water rafting to soon be banned as racist.

Assuming "Pot" is legalized at the Federal level, then selling such a product will need to be done under a license of some kind. There need to be standards established to ensure the "legal pot" meets some kind of consumer safety standard and, the sale of pot by unlicensed vendors needs to carry a penalty. Obviously, significant taxation similar to other "sin taxed products" is applicable. Without such guidelines and regulation, the street vendors will always win out over legitimate licensed brick and mortar vendors. This should not indicate my support or lack thereof of legalization of pot, just how I think it needs to be done if it is done. No, I don't and have never used illegal drugs.

I completely agree that a method to test/evaluate the level of influence pot needs to be developed and a standard set for what is acceptable (should pot be legalized nationwide). I'm thinking we have a long ways to go to get that done but, I really don't know squat about such things. I've seen the results of folks doing stupid things while under the influence of alcohol and different drugs. It's not always funny.

Alot of folks, even vocal ones in support of legalizing don't seem to know squat about such things. At least you are rational.

First off, Fierofool, that (White-water rafting being banned) is hilarious (And the Huge Manatee thing is great also)
I don't do any drugs, never drank alcohol (Mom and her parents were alcoholics and died from it)
I smoked pot three times- the third time, I guess I inhaled......Could not remember where I parked the car- And I was IN it at the time (OK, I knew I was in the car, but could not remember the street I was on) Never had any interest in it after that.
I always thought it was idiotic to ban even research into the chemicals in marijuana for medical use- yet, we have all sorts of drugs based on heroin.
Also, while alcohol leaves your system (Basically) in a day or so, marijuana takes up to a week to be eliminated- so if you are "Partying" on Saturday, you shouldn't go back to your job till Friday!
That all being said, I would prefer to never smell the dang Skunk-weed ever again- but realistically, it will probably be completely legalized. People tried to make booze illegal and that just lead to giant crime syndicates and disrespect for law enforcement.

If you can agree it is medicine. What is to stop it from being preventive medicine meaning you would need to wait to feel ill suffer in order to be proven symptomatic. People suffering put themselves out of misery sometimes permanently they aren't too worried about laws finding it works for them. You could always follow the narrative.

Yes it is a medicine. Some barriers have already been mentioned.
