The grid loses 16 gigawatts of wind-powered electricity and 30 gigawatts of other kinds of electricity, mostly from natural gas-fired plants.
What's the answer?

My question is what are the progressives going to replace it with? We know how Ebonics turned out. What is next for math? |

"A Plan to Future-Proof the Texas Power Grid" Jesse Jenkins, assistant professor and energy systems engineer at Princeton University; op-ed, New York Times; February 18, 2021. https://www.nytimes.com/202...nion&pgtype=Homepage
It's not a fully worked out plan, just an informed overview of how this looks, in hindsight.
I try not to be hoodwinked by misleading oversimplifications of any kind, whether it's from a politician with an "R" after their name (I'm thinking of Texas governor Greg Abbott) with a soundbyte to shift responsibility from the "R" political brand onto advocates of wind energy and other renewables, or from a "Tucker Carlson" expressing a careless animus against wind energy; from a Green New Deal zealot that's misinformed and is erring in a roughly opposite direction, or even a mislead from some other forum member.
If it weren't for me, what would that particular Pennock's "user account" (immediately preceding message) ever have to say here?
Not much.[This message has been edited by rinselberg (edited 02-19-2021).]
