We also have had our tree up for the past two years.
It was our Mom's, she loved it. After she passed, we decided to keep it up.

Took them down two weeks ago. Have I actually put them away yet? No. Still have all the boxes stacked up in the hallway...
And YOU have nothing to be ashamed of. YOUR lights are now 'Deer Feeder" lights.

Just took mine down a couple of days ago. I can use several excuses (surgery, COVID, etc.) but really was just too lazy to do the work. Since I will be in virus isolation for the next few days, I got inspired to do something that allowed me to escape my confinement room.

They still hang on our young outdoor pine tree, but not lit. I put them up while on a ladder in the bed of a pickup, including a light up star zip tied in place on top so they may be there a while...til spring?
My neighbor still lights his up nightly...[This message has been edited by 2.5 (edited 02-04-2021).]

I did take the outside lights down the weekend after the New Year, but..................I didn't get to the inside decorations right away. I just last night took down and put the final ones away. Took down the artificial tree in the main living room last Sunday. In my defense I did get COVID and this past Monday was my last day of quarantine. Kind of took the wind out of my sail for a few weeks.

Well, anyone that has had COVID has a decent or reasonable excuse. Hope you're over it and doing better.

Ron,
The only symptom I ever had of the COVID virus was the positive test. Totally asymptomatic for all known virus related checkpoints. I am starting to wonder if I had a false positive even though I understand that those are rare.

Well, I'm glad to learn you weren't deathly ill but, you do realize that you just withdrew yourself from having a valid excuse. I can't tell you how glad I am that the wife and I joined in on the Research Study with Maderna and got our shots back in August and Sept. But, that also means, my excuse isn't worth much either.

I recently read where a person called the police on a neighbor because they still had their Christmas lights up. Fortunately, they were understanding police officers. The lady's husband had passed shortly before Christmas, and the lights were something that he enjoyed. She quoted him saying something like "They bring me closer to Home."
