So what's everyone watching? (Page 3/4)

I've seen a bunch of these. Firefly made me sad. Too short. Sopranos, True Blood, Oz, Silicon Valley, ER, all the 90s sitcoms. This is over my lifetime. Star Trek. All except DS9. I can't get into movies sometimes, I'll pass right out. Goldbergs was good. Morden Family. A Chris Porter standup. He hates pickles as much as I do. I'll check out a couple of these.

Lady Gaga was one of their guests.

I just enjoyed the first episode of a recent made-for-TV series called "The Alienist."

rinse, the title isn't about the content of the show, it reflects their viewership numbers....

Well, MSNBC now has this weird habit of presenting a virus "blipvert" or almost subliminal virus image all throughout their broadcast day. It's like the image I selected (above.) It fills the entire TV screen area and is blurred or out of focus, as if it were submersed in a light-refracting liquid. It's pale blue. It comes on screen just about every passing minute or so, and it's there for about a second; just long enough to be recognizable to the viewer.

I guess it's meant to remind the viewer that they are tuned into news coverage of the pandemic.

A new level of redundancy or superfluousness, since their news coverage has been and continues to be about the pandemic and hardly anything else since the coronavirus Sh*t Hit The Fan here in the United States.

A couple of my favorites:

quote

Swing You Sinners! is a 1930 animated cartoon short, directed by the Fleischer Brothers. The cartoon is notable for its surreal, dark and sometimes even abstract content.

quote

Bimbo's Initiation is a 1931 Fleischer Studios Talkartoon animated short film starring Bimbo and featuring Betty Boop. It was the final Betty Boop cartoon to be animated by the character's co-creator, Grim Gatwick.

Cartoons like these were still on TV when I was little, in the mid-late 1950's. Now you know why all us old geezers are so messed up.

Subliminal messaging to instill fear into their 37 viewers?

"Pubic health systems"

Just seen on air in one of MSNBC's Powerpoint or viewgraph-style presentations.

A typo I almost committed myself, here, just the other day.

I just got done binge watching "The chilling adventures of Sabrina" on netflix.

I started watching it just out of curiosity, but next thing i knew i was hooked! Its a really good show.

Its basically a re-imagining of the old kids show "Sabrina the teenage witch". But its for adults!

Its very dark, very violent with lots of gore and monster killing, with plenty of dark humor throughout.

Check it out! You might be surprised like i was and really like it.

3 full seasons to watch so far..

I also just watched the netflix show "I am not ok with this" It stars that redhead girl from the "It" remake they did a while back.

About a teenage girl who starts to develop these weird super powers and the crazy stuff that happens as her powers start to emerge..

Really funny! The episodes are short too, only like 20min per episode, and only the first season so far, 8 episodes.

Oh and if any of you like watching cartoons, here is a website you may enjoy, it literally has pretty much any cartoon you can think of on there, and most of them, every episode ever made. Everything from cartoons from the 20's and 30's until now. I love to binge watch all those old classic action cartoons i grew up watching in the 70's and 80's.. Currently working my way through Thundar the Barbarian!

They have some normal sitcoms on there as well, like Boy meets world, Wonder years, and stuff like that.

How about some good movies to watch; One that came out 5-6 years ago- my GF at the time had to drag me to it.....When I walked out of the theater I stated "I want the DVD- One of the best movies I have ever seen!" And she agreed. The movie was "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" starring and directed by Ben Stiller. Never had much interest in him, but halfway thru the movie I realized this guy has a lot of talent. The critics HATED the movie- just like they all hated "It's a Wonderful Life"- that movie is now considered one of the best movies ever filmed...I think this one will end up the same way. (Note; It is a bit slow in the beginning- wait until he is in Greenland and has to get on a helo with a drunk pilot- Like a hand grabbing you and pulling you into the movie)

Another newer movie; "The Martian" The movie and the book it was based on are first rate and really well done- Matt Damon really made this great.

And some old obscure movies; Comedies- "The President's Analyst", "Man's Favorite Sport", SciFI (Super Obscure but well done); "The Monolith Monsters", "X the Unknown" (Scared the crap out of me when I was 6 years old), A movie for the younger set (But still cool) "In Search of the Castaways" and, hmmm, how about the only musical I really like- one for people who do NOT have a great voice; "Paint your Wagon" which has Lee Marvin and Clint Eastwood, who actually sings! (This movie is one of the funniest movies you will ever see)

Other than that I have grown tired of counting the pixels in my TV and computer screens, the number of grains of rice in a bag, and the number of blades of grass in my front yard- I know, I'll count the blades in the back yard! (Oh BOY!!!)
