Are you frustrated with car jumpstarters? (Page 2/2)

I've had excellent luck with the older style jump boxes, and just replacing the internal battery every few years.

Ive tried those mini jump starters but theyre only good for that. I had one of these and got another after getting rid of the mini one.

These are awesome and very handy. When the lead battery dies I get a lithium from amazon and I have the jump power of a mini w all the goodies in the jump box. We started using these to jump start jetskiis at the lake a long time ago. I like this brand and style, very useful

John, I hate to say it but the reviews of the one you’re recommending has very poor reviews. I find that their customer service says the typical response: “We’re so sorry for your experience…please contact us at your earliest convenience”. Ya, right. 😀
Here’s a concept: why don’t you go back to your company drawing board and fix the root cause of your charging issues? Oh, and in the meantime, stop selling known defective products. 🙁

I wouldn't buy anything named GOOLOO just on principal alone.

I've had good luck with it. Even bought one for a relative.

Harbor Freight hit a homerun with that unit. Every once in a while they have a vendor that knows how to make a good product and that's one of them.

Ohly had it a couple months but so far under heavy use it is a power house.

Thanks for the link Andrew. I checked it out and the specs look fine.
However, because of the nature & reputation of this product, there ought to be a special section of reviews on Amazon that give reviews solely on long term use. (like over a year or more) I bet most of these reviews are from at least less than 3-4 months ownership and because of this you don’t see anyone complaining about charging issues. (which I feel is all too common with this product) Like I mentioned earlier in my thread, they all “behave” out of the gate but 3 months or so down the road, they start to develop charging issues of different kinds.

One last thing and a word of advice to ANYONE buying ANYTHING on Amazon: when checking reviews for feedback, start at the bottom first!! Amazon is far more sneaky about influencing your decision than you think.
You’ve heard of the VW “diesel dupe”? Well, Amazon has their own dupe as well. It’s called the “Positive reviews on the top” dupe. 😀

I have used two of them. The first one the battery pack started to swell so I stopped using it. The second one is still going strong. If it fails than I am not going to buy any more that use lithium ion batteries. I'll look for the larger ones that use a sealed lead acid battery like you get in a computer UPS.
