Kind of a strange story about microwaves,

A couple months ago, I came across an article about a radio telescope facility in a remote part of Australia.

They were incurring what are refered to as "Fast Radio Bursts" on their equipment.

They scanned the skies for 17 years, before they determined the source..........

It was caused by people in the staff lunch room, opening the microwave door, mid cycle to check on or stir their food, without using the pause button.

17 years.......

So, yeah, Betty Hill, was interviewed by an alien traveler, who landed on NH highway #3 in front of their '57 Chevy.

So, yeah, the aliens have been coming here for all time, that Moses meeting on Mt. Sinai in Saudi Arabia, the ' burning bush scene, the Ten Commandments, Ark of the Covenant ', all time.

What all that means, is that we are not alone in the Galaxy !
They are our fathers, that live in the sky, in heaven, and who love us.

Yeah, it was the craziest thing I'd ever seen when I first discovered it. I thought we'd somehow discovered a wireless device in a place it should not have been, that was part of some espionage plot. Turns out, it was just the microwave in the break room. I then looked it up, and realized that this was a thing and other people had noticed this too.

It's not "constant" ... so, what I mean is... it's not a massive stream of network packets. But you have to consider that when a microwave is running, it's a continuous stream of RF... and by sheer entropy, it creates a couple of packets every second or so. The "packets" will typically have some conformity (again through sheer entropy) to the IEE packet header format. When you look at the "data," it tends to be garbled, but conforms enough to it that it's viewed as a packet. When it's garbled, it looks like it's encrypted... so you assume there's some kind of exfiltration going on.

The other thing is, not all microwaves will do this... as 2.45Ghz is not exactly 2.4Ghz, but whether it's because it's a cheap microwave, or the microwave is getting older... it can end up doing this in many cases.

Man, I'm so bummed. When I was 12, I had a clock radio by my bed (I guess I still technically do today), and I used to listen to Coast to Coast (though I didn't really consider what it was, because it came on right after NPR. I thought it was the coolest thing, and the topics were totally awesome.

In the past 30 years, the only time I've heard it has been if I'm extremely lucky and I happen to find it on AM radio during a road trip, and only when I'm leaving SUPER early in the morning (like before 5 AM or something), or if I'm pulling an all-night drive.

Truly, I'm kind of bummed... because I don't know when I'd ever be able to listen to it under normal circumstances. I know the original guy died, and there's a new guy, but apparently it's still pretty cool. I think I've listened to it 3 times (no longer than 30 minutes each) in the past 25-30 years.

One can stream any station by clicking on the blue hyper link. There are five stations in Tampa you could hear over the air. I think you live close to Tampa.

It's more the problem of "when," since I'm not really listening at that point. BUT, I see they have stuff on-Demand, so I can pretty much listen to it whenever I want. Thanks for that!!!
