I think watching a few shelter making u-toobs before wandering into the Cascades would be essential to survival.
Yeah !
Like that !

Or like this !

Making an igloo, cooking a meal, surviving..
.
Inserting sticks the length of the desired thickness from the outside will allow the excavation to be made without making it too thin.
Now, lining your igloo with thermal blankets will retain more heat.
Poke through the mylar to tie it to the inside of the shelter.
Watering the exterior will form a thin ice shell, a stronger 'Gloo, wind resistant
You will also want to line the floor with spruce or fir branches, more thermal blankets on top, more branches on top of that.
Having food and water is necessary for a lengthy stay, it's important to stay alive, to survive in a post apocalyptic reality.
You must be prepared and supplied before the nukes start popping, like when the sheet hits the fan, Armageddon, like.
Start hoarding your stash today !
Spring and summer is the traditional time of the year for armored offensives, heating up the Russian conflict.
Battlefield tactical nukes, to blunt their advances, like WWI, all over again.
