I know some auto suppliers are moving out of Mexico because they're now too expensive, and into Guatemala, right on the border. Another was REAL excited to tell us they're opening a plant in Tunisia.

I've had a number of GE over range built in type. Extra large in size. Only ever had an issue with one and I think it was just a fuse popped.
My current house didn't have clearance. I'm using a tiny low budget one that I found while walking my dog at 0500 one morning. It's like a real microwave at half power rofl. I think the clock runs fast on it too. Free. Free. Free.

Is why Obama & others still want to have NAFTA extend to rest of Central & South America Plus added TPP for Pacific Rim players that Does Not protect US Jobs or improve US Exports on nearly all levels no matter what is claim.
Worse many countries in the setup like China has no labor or environmental laws & why Chili et al is mining things Lithium & other "rare earth" minerals then sending/selling to China to make Most Lithium batteries use by nearly Everything including EV that use Hundreds to Thousands of cells per car. 10-100 x more cells for trucks etc. & "wear out" in short term then 99% will get dumped in landfills. That's completely ignoring Battery Fires in most things using them for Decades & the problems goes with that...[This message has been edited by theogre (edited 01-22-2024).]

Could been... Many are made cheap for 20+ years now & worse made to comply w/ RoHS & other rules/laws requiring Lead Free Solder etc that doesn't last long.
One MW I had "died" because "Zebra strip" failed to connect front button panel to the control board. Adjusted the strip & Re-torqued the screws & work for years more but most won't bother & throw in the trash.
+ Many still don't watch what is put into them... While "No Metal rule" is not quite right, many things have metal in glaze or paint on many cups/mugs etc & that can cause sparking or plasma burning that causes a very short life.[This message has been edited by theogre (edited 01-22-2024).]

We've got a 1200W Panasonic (from Lowes), that replaced a similar 1100W Panasonic, that was about two weeks older than baseball.
The only reason we replaced the first one is that the front surface where the door closes, on the bottom corner, was starting to rust. We were concerned about RF leakage. But it still worked perfectly.
This looks like our new one. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Pa...ess-Steel/1000503467
If you need a larger "over the range" type, I can't help too much. I used to really like Whirlpool. But our last Whirlpool didn't seem to cook properly (took too long) and tripped the breaker a time or two. I suspect the magnetron was not tuned properly, but didn't feel like screwing with it. If you mess up, it can make you dead.

I've got one very much like that. It has been plugging away for about 20 years and the only thing I have had to replace is the plastic ring that goes beneath the glass plate. I literally ran it until the wheels fell off.
I think you could park a small sedan inside and still have room to open the trunk.
It is almost identical to this one: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Pa...ess-Steel/1000503503

FYI most if, not all microwaves come from one manufacturer, Midea, regardless of the brand on the machine itself. I don't know if Midea has a one tier or a good, better, best quality machines but this is one area I would do with a minimum viable product that fits in with the decor of you kitchen.

I have found a small Microwave that is made in Usa....Do any of you know where this country "Usa" is located...?
The mikey in question is a Breville Compact wave soft close....Model # BMO650BSS1BUC1....I am going to check one out at the (not local) Best Buy before I order it at the >>Local<< Best Buy.
Any of you have any experience with Breville...Especially Microwaves...?
