My new kitty Buddy.. (Page 2/4)

I adopted this little guy a couple days ago. Well, it might only be temporary; he belonged to an older lady who was living in a facility because she has early-onset Alzheimers, and when she had a very bad fall a couple weeks ago she went into a skilled nursing facility for therapy. The plan is, if she does well and can go back to the original facility, she can have the cat back. But knowing how these things develop, chances are I might have the cat permanently. Anyway, he is 14 and is super loving and friendly. Well-behaved too. Been a few years since I had a cat!

A better look at my cat from the video above. My nickname for her is The Terminator. No rodent is safe in my yard. She earns her keep!

Snow? Not a problem!

She was helping me work on the car here (observe her footprints on the strut tower)... and just as I took this shot, a bunch of snow fell from the big cedar tree overhead.

And no, it doesn't snow here a lot. I just happen to like these shots taken in February of 2019.

Jonesy, you have my admiration and respect. Any animal is precious. I am not a cat guy but they serve me well. They patrol my property ridding it of rodents even though they are not mine. They are very interesting creatures to watch. They stalk in stealth and finnaly pounce on it's prey. Excellent tree climbers. I have seen some scare off my 99 pound Doberman.

Here's some of my cat pack at work, coming to get breakfast.. Yeah i love animals in general, but am especially fond of cats. I've always been good at making friends with cats and gaining their trust. This is only a few of the cats i take care of at work, there is about 20 in total. They are all fixed, and had their shots.. I get that done pretty much as soon as they arrive. Most of them are very friendly and enjoy pets and cuddles like any other cat, and they keep me company, and entertained while im working in the shop. Especially Buddy as we are super close, but he keeps me company at home now. Down side to all this is people in town know i take care of strays, so anybody that wants to abandon a cat tends to do it at my shop. I try to find homes for as many as i can, and its usually pretty easy for the young ones, but once they are adults, its much harder to find homes for them. But i do what i can. And for those that live their lives in my shop, they all have their own beds, blankets, boxes and other things to play with. Plus my warehouse is quite big and they love to climb all over it. I give them the best lives i can.

Breakfast time!

Nibbler sleeping on my desk.

Hotshot sleeping on the overalls display.

Jude saying good morning.

Emmy greeting me in the morning.

This is Custard.. Hes been with me the longest, 13 years now.

This is Millie.. Shes Buddy's sister. Found her a home a few weeks after her and Buddy where abandoned at my shop.

Thanks, I'll tell her.

She used to be my neighbor's cat a half block away, but she decided she preferred the quiet solitude of my yard with just me... as opposed to a household of two adults, two kids, and three pups. (Apparently she was born to a feral cat, which might explain why she doesn't like being around a lot of activity.) When the neighbors discovered she had moved in with me five years ago (I thought she was a stray!), the husband and wife gave her to me with their blessing. I could tell the two kids were none too pleased, but the cat wanted nothing to do with them. Anyway, the cat's happy with the arrangement, and so am I.

The neighbors had of course already given her a name. I kept the name, but changed the last letter. It's now Hutzpaw.

Eh, i don't really see them as just animals. They're my friends. Each one is so different personality wise. Each one greets me every day in their own way. Custard is always waiting by his dish for his food, gives me some old man sounding meows, with a few head bumps. Emmy runs across the parking lot every morning to me and just flops down at my feet wanting belly rubs. Stuff like that.. Makes my day. I get a lot of support from the other shop owners around as well. Pretty much everyone likes my cats. Local news even did a story on them about 10 years ago, and interviewed me, lol. Where i live and work is a very old part of town, where it first started actually. Think Mayberry from Andy Griffeth and you'll get the idea. Were all a close nit little community where everyone knows everyone, and i get food and money donations from them and customers from time to time.

I know just what you mean. During the height of the pandemic shutdown, when I wasn't seeing anybody for extended periods of time, my cat was great company (and still is). Non animal lovers will probably snicker at that... but hell, I don't care.

I found Scooter in the middle of the road on a busy hi way coming home from work.I don't know if someone through her out of a car or what. Her ear was bleeding and she had blood in her eye. Found an emergency vet on Sunday memorial weekend. Turned out she had a cut on her ear and was dazed.
