I haven't seen any here. I live in a military town tho. Crime is low. Any given time, there are 10 uniformed soldiers walking around Walmart.

they're all over connecticut lowes. i noticed they came around covid, they were making announcements like stay 6 feet away, wash your hands, etc etc. it was really orwellian. maybe it was funded with govt/corona $$. more pork.

i see no benefit other than maybe if i got vandalized, i could go to the tape. etc.

now they just broadcast deals and announcements for the day.

You don't have to have an expensive recording system to get benefits from security cameras. In fact they do not have to record anything at all. All they need is a red light on them so that people will see them and think that they are recording.

Sometimes that works...
Many Don't care when a crime is recorded on many cameras.

Because Many Places the DA will release them w/o bail or even charging them.
Why Philly etc have looters & worse problems.
Day 1 https://6abc.com/philadelph...oot-locker/13832625/
Day 2 https://6abc.com/beauty-sup...rests-nats/13838244/
Out on bail & looting https://6abc.com/philadelph...lly-police/13840504/ then allow bail for Looting.

Many "shoplifters" don't care when stores have cameras either. Walk in, load a cart or several then walk out.
Many stores don't stop them too because a lot of "shoplifters" will shoot or otherwise kill you getting in their way.

Over in Otsego County they have a Lowes, Home Cesspool, and a Wally World. I haven't seen anything in those places. Same with the Tractor Supply stores here. All the garden stuff (mulch, soil, fencing, outdoor equipment, ect ) at all those stores is outside.
I have started loading mulch off a pallet while my wife has gone inside to pay and if an attendant sees me, I tell them how many and they help me load it.
So, I guess theft hasn't been a problem.

I'm in a state that is very concealed carry friendly and haven't see any of these yet.

Just sayin...
