I think that this is what the warning is about. Possibly something about the construction (chemistry? materials?) of the piece itself.
I see similar warnings on damn near everything.

Hell... if everything in California causes cancer, I think I'd just move.
Wish we could just untie them from the pier, and set them adrift.
