Less social interaction is a good thing. More family interaction is a better thing.

By "Social" I mean family and friends. NOT "Social Media"

I agree. A close family. A very few close friends.[This message has been edited by olejoedad (edited 12-09-2022).]

LOL, didn't I hear of someone doing the "Cannonball Run" coast to coast during the shutdown and blowing away the previous record because there was hardly any traffic or police at all? Or was that just another urban myth?

Not in all cases.
Personally, I cut all ties in 2015 and getting rid of the toxicity is one of the best things I ever did.

Similar to Cliff Pennock restricting (most) political crap to its own sub-section within the forum. Has made OT a heckuva lot more pleasant.[This message has been edited by Patrick (edited 12-09-2022).]

Due to COVID, my wife and I became a lot less social. As did most of the people that we know. Getting "back into it" has been slow, for a lot of people. I've always been a bit of a homebody, so that's not always a bad thing. But I find I'm having to force myself to go out and "take part". We've also gotten a bit less accommodating. "Don't want to make the effort to come see us? That's cool. But maybe we won't make the effort to come see you, either." I think that COVID just made people a bit more introverted. (Dare I say "selfish"? I suppose that goes along with looking out for ones-self.)

Like MJ, I'm still in a fairly new place... only been in Tampa since June of 2021. I work from home now, so it's rare that I get the opportunity to actually interact with the people at work.
To be completely honest, I'd love to retire and move back into my old house (which I'm renting out) in Fort Lauderdale. I know a lot of people down there. The home is almost paid off, and if I sold this one, I'd have it paid off plus cash to just sit on. I wouldn't need to work. But, I want to pay for my daughter's college, and I'm just not yet ready to throw in the towel... but I'm not totally inspired either.
I still don't know what I want to do when I grow up.
But yes... aside from the fact that I work from home, in other aspects of my life, there are still many things that haven't "returned to normal," and I'm not sure they will any time soon. |

Wife and I are heading to Clearwater Beach in February for a few days. We can have a social interaction if you'd like. Guys got to eat, right?[This message has been edited by Lambo nut (edited 12-10-2022).]

If it werent for those 2 things, most of us would be playing with something with a motor, mowing down on a Pizza (or Poutine, and **** that salad crap ) sucking coffee, beer or pop, and have some good tunes turned up.
IE: Just havin a good-ol-time....DRESSED (I hope)
