Scared the crap out of me, Cliff. (Page 2/2)

So...it's not a Spy-der, huh?

I am glad to see the return of the spider. She was absent for a few years.

In her honor, Alice Cooper and Vincent Price:

I got to see them do the "Welcome to My Nightmare" tour about 45 years ago. It really was a great show.

Spiders scare me initially for a few tenths of a second until my brain kicks in. I think it's something left over from when we were still living in caves because (certainly here in my part of the woods) most of the time we have nothing to fear from them. Whenever I see a spider in the house, I usually let him be. I know it kills a lot of other bugs that are harmful. Mosquitos bite me. Flies carry diseases. Silverfish make holes in my clothes. And so on. An most of the time when I get near them, they are like "Oh crap! Big scary human! Must hide now!". Sometimes I see a huge house spider. And even though I know it probably kills more insects than all other spiders in the house combined, I usually catch it and set it free outside. Because it's the only spider that doesn't make a web so I have no clear idea of where its home is and even if it has a home. Maybe it simply picks a new place to hide during the day. Like my shoes, my jacket or my bed...

Because our climate is rapidly changing (it gets warmer each year and we no longer have cold winters) some spiders that usually were only found in southern Europe, now have found their way to The Netherlands. Like the "false wolf spider". Now that's a nasty SOB. It's not afraid of humans and will actually attack and bite them. They are around (people in my neighborhood caught a few). If I find that one in my house, I'm not gonna catch it an set it free. Instead it's going to find it's way to spider heaven real quick...

This screen scared me more than that cute little spider did!

(popped up today when I visited the OT area)

Yeah, I've been getting that same orange screen (intermittently) that TheDigitalAlchemist just posted.

First time I've ever seen it.
