Patrick- I had a similar situation happen to me back in 1982- Right after I got out of the Navy, I would stop and talk to a very pretty young woman at the Quik Stop in Castro Valley. Once I was talking to her and left...next evening I was at a party at my father's house- overheard two ladys talking about an "Armed robbery at a Quik Stop"..."Um, excuse me- which one?!" "Castro Valley" Called her immediately...Apparently they were waiting for me to leave and then went in and robbed her- Just after they left a Park Service Ranger came in- Saw Ann looking stunned, got the story and then tailed the thugs while using his radio to notify the cops....>NAILED them<

Just think if you had stuck around a bit longer how life might've worked out differently. Not only would you have dazzled the Quik Stop girl with your charm, but you would've also had the opportunity to single-handedly disarm and incapacitate two armed robbers. The pretty young Quik Stop girl would've then gone on to be the mother of your children. What could've been!
