Hahah... no, definitely not. There aren't a lot of people who get that excited seeing old buildings. I grew up watching This Old House, so I blame that.

As for the law, I guess it's only in Bartow?

No way. This is not some Bartow city or county ordinance. This is a Florida state-wide loud mobile music abatement law, passed by the Florida state legislature and enacted with the signature of Florida's governor. (I guess. I don't think he objected to the law. I really don't know, but I haven't seen otherwise.)

As for the Topic...

This Is Not New.
A lot of Counties and Cities already can Ticket "Boom cars," loud parties, etc. More so at Night And Under Current Anti Noise Laws.
Likely Including Many places in Fl.

This is State Law instead of City or County that may have Different or No laws covering this for each area.

Being that I'm 50% Hispanic, I think I can say this without being called a racist.

But Hispanics like their loud parties. South Florida, and much of Orlando is made up of a huge percentage of Hispanics. Cubans not so much, but the Brazilians in SoFla, and the Puerto Ricans in Orlando, they're going to have a problem with this, because they love them some loud music late into the night.

Also... who here hasn't blasted their music out of their car at one point or another? When I had just becoming an adult... 18/19, etc... even maybe 20. I would regularly drive up and down Fort Lauderdale beach checking out the ladies and blasting music in my Fiero that everyone could hear. Of course... I had no idea that it sounds like crap on the outside. Now that I'm in my 40s, and a curmudgeon... I realize when I see cars driving by that are doing the same thing, it totally sounds like **** , and barely anyone can tell what you're listening to.

Anyway, seems like a silly law... they're not going to like it. I understand noise pollution laws... Sunday-Thursday, cut-off at 10:00... but anything else is kind of silly.
