Petty sure that is a foreign country. Looks to be an older Benz truck and a slow action view of the video shows a strange license plate. Most of my life, I've lived where there was no sidewalks and you had to walk where ever you could between the roadway and a ditch.

Judging from the bark of that tree, I'd hazard to guess that this occurred in Maracanau, Ceara, Brazil.

Whether that guy was standing still or walking, he should've been paying attention, considering his proximity to the traffic with no barrier of any sort. I think we can all agree that he was extremely fortunate not to have been killed in that video! |

Patrick, All I'm gonna say is we obviously have different life experiences. You are not wrong when you state he was fortunate to have not been killed but, one would expect the traffic to stay within it's normal lane. It was obviously an accident between the two vehicles that caused the truck to almost run over the dude. Had the two vehicles not met where they did, we would have never had a video to observe.
A similar statement as you previously made could apply to falling satellites. They do come down from time to time. Although admittedly, walking along a roadside does provide a greater risk but....................

Since you drive for a living, you of all people should be aware that this isn't always the case.
Ron, you can walk on whichever side of the road that you wish. I'm not trying to convince you otherwise. Heck, walk down the center of the road if you're feeling frisky. I'll continue to walk on the side of the road where I can best see what's approaching, and possibly be able to jump out of the way of incoming!

Patrick, I'll agree with you on folks standing on the curb as being "risky" but, not facing the traffic? Which direction should he be facing on a two way street? Do we know which direction he was headed on that sidewalk? I mean really?
