Gas Buddy? (Page 2/3)

I've checked gas buddy off and on for a long while. I'm not mitch on signing up for things, so I used to just crack it and get a general idea of places that were cheaper on average. There was a place much cheaper on fuel, but sucked for my commute. I always hit it on early mornings.
I'm going to assume the huge savings line that are like upside. They're essentially steering you towards fuel that's more expensive and about averages with the savings.

Do Not even reply to offers like that.
Many are fake and fraudulent at best.

Gasbuddy does have an offer but go to https://www.gasbuddy.com/ to read info etc.
Note: This site Does Not include all stations in an area. Many stations have wrong and/or missing info too.

Example: Speedway signs often have 2 prices for standard gas... one price for "normal" drivers and 5¢ (or more) less for "Pay Card" users but hard to read at a distance.
Speedway loyalty gives points and if you tie to a Credit Card then 5¢ per gal discount permanently. (I think is done by company that handle the Speedway Fleet cards.) see https://www.speedway.com/my-account/pay-card

Do Not use Debit Card for these and more. CC are way different then DC and have more protection By Federal Law.

Others Gas chains have different schemes that can save money too but some have higher price to start w/.
Speedway in one of lowest price in my area then add a discount.

Seeing as how the site depends on info/prices supplied by the public in each jurisdiction, that's probably to be expected.

However, I definitely find the site to be worthwhile checking before filling my tank... especially with gas prices here being the highest in North America!

I used to use Speedway at every opportunity (those points add up and help) but they don't currently do business in Mississippi. I've asked about Fleet Cards in the past but, even when I was at my highest point in Hot Shotting, I wasn't using enough fuel to qualify. Fleet Cards are for the Big Boys that buy huge amounts of fuel. I simply wasn't big enough. It is, what it is.

A few years back when prices were this high, someone sent me an email with a link to a site where you could find the best price in your zip code. I put in my zip and it listed the Quickway in the village. I thought no, they are at least 10 cents higher than stations in other towns. Then I realized that the Quickway was the only station in my zip code. I put in another zip code where I was familiar with prices and it was accurate.

I need to find that site.

Probably gasbuddy. It's been around over 2 decades.

Most won't qualified for Fleet Cards including most small and medium businesses.

Most will qualify for Speedway "Pay Cards" and other loyalty programs that can save money.
Even w/o Speedway Pay Cards, bonus points can get a gas discount too. X¢ for 25 gal but 10 25 or 50¢ depending on points spend is a big deal for many.

As mentioned already, it's probably GasBuddy... although at least in my jurisdiction, you choose the name of your city, not a zip code.

Not GasBuddy unless the site has changed a lot. No card or anything, just prices. Just for grins, I went to their finder map and put my zip. It did show the Quickway, but all the prices were dashed lines. It also listed other area stores and those prices were all dashed lines. The distances to the other places were misleading. The miles were as the crow flies.
