Blohm & Voss BV-141

I don't know of any flying examples of the BV-141 still remaining anywhere, so this is what Don might have seen (?):
Rutan "Boomerang"

No. It definitely had no nose engine, & the single engine was farther out on the wing, and I would have noticed the area where the gear folded up into the wings. It really looked as if they had removed one engine and prop and had removed the very end of the bare wing. It was completely 1 dark color...black or dark brown. I was out in the pasture sitting on the 4 wheeler and got a good look at it as it passed overhead. Maybe it had some work done somewhere and the owner decided to fly it 'home' on one engine but I can't imagine it being flown very far in that configuration if it was mid maintenance.

Aren't there any regulations down there governing what people are allowed to fly?

This is America... we don't need regulation. I cut the roof off a car that my friend literally just found on a property that he bought, and we had it registered and insured before lunchtime. We drove it around like that for two years.

Of course. There are not any signs in the air telling us to put on snow tires.

The local small air field could probably tell you the type of plane and the pilot's name. If he was low enough to read the tail number you can just google it, too. Unless it was drug runners from down south finding a very creative and impractical way to transport their stuff...

That might be something local. Perhaps you can call your smaller nearby airports and describe what you saw with the hope that whomever you speak with might have noticed an oddity like that.
