Flatus Passing Cars? Who Knew....... (Page 2/2)

Speaking of horns, I've got a triple trumpet train horn that was given to me to mount on my truck.
Never have because I know I'd be tempted to use it from time to time and I don't need the associated issues/attention that could come with such an activity.

I am not opposed to an intercom/boobbox boombox function. Just do not tie it to safety functions like the horn button that is important in alerting ass holes when they are about to ruin your day.

That would be a funny report, but officer I tried to warn him by farting in his general direction.

The Boombox wasn't through the horn button. It was a separate sound that the car made. You could set it to a button, but not the horn.

As per usual, I believe that this is a gross overreach of Government Powers.

It’s very easy to use boombox mode, you have to follow these simple steps:

First, tap on the Application Launcher icon present on the bottom bar of your Tesla screen.
After that, tap on the Toybox option.
Under the Toybox folder, you will see the option to activate boombox mode.
Select the boombox option and pick the sound of your choice.

To setup, select fart sound from dropdown options and place the cushion on the external speaker. You can then play sound by pressing the left scroll wheel button or using the turn signal. You can also use other sounds.

Aside from that, under the Emission testing Mode, there are two more options: Drive Mode and Summon. As the name suggests, Drive Mode can be used to play sound continuously while driving the car. Similarly, you can also play music while summoning your car. Here’s a link to the video demonstrating how to access these features.

This is played through the speaker that the NHTSA required be put on electric vehicles in order to make noise to warn pedestrians that the car was around.....

I think if they are going to ban certain sounds, they should mandate which particular sound is required. It's just a sound so people notice the vehicle...

It may not be tided to the horn but NHTSA does say its a safety function, so until those regulations are changed everyone should meet them.
If I was ran over by a Tesla and found out I was suppose to avoid it because it was making fart noises I would not be happy.
I think they should all sound like open header HD motorcycles and be done with it.

Loud pipes don't really save lives either, but the noise isn't defined. It just needs to be a noise so a person knows something is there. If you hear a fart coming towards you, and you walk into it... Well, that stinks.

Personally I don't care. You can't hear my wife's car idling down the road. Both of ours can be in electric mode and dead silent, and neither of them have a sound device when they are in electric. (perhaps it's because they only go to a certain speed in electric only. I don't know.)
