What will they think of next, Cow Flatus Drinking Straws. (Page 2/2)

I guess commie-fornia never heard of PLA. (polylactic acid)

Cheap plant-based biodegradable, yet durable plastic. Easy to use, relatively strong and is already what disposable plastic cutlery is made from.

But nooooooo....

They had to fart on existing technology.

I'm not qualified to suggest anything along this realm but, CA probably believes that'll cause cancer in earth worms or something like that.

At least what you're drinking won't taste like chicken.

I read (not all that long ago) that people who talk about bovine flatulence, or "BF" as specialists often abbreviate it, are most often unaware that cattle "belch" more methane into the atmosphere from their mouths. That would be BB. To formulate this in scientific notation:

CH4(BF) < CH4(BB)

OK, I made up the abbreviations, but otherwise, this is a true statement based on what I read, and I think it's not disputed among those who are truly knowledgable about it. I can't say that I have tried to "drill down" on this, but I've not seen it disputed. Why would I have seen it asserted but not seen it disputed, if it were disputed?

Not made from farts. Made from methane partially from belching but more prominently, from decaying manure. Usually from big dairies that are enclosed and the ponds that dairies use to collect washoff from the milking parlors.

I'll just say that once again, if anything so dumb, useless, and stupid could be created, rest assured it's created in my pathetic state. I guess there was something wrong with using those mandated cardboard straws that collapse after 5 minutes that we're forced to use.

Hold on there and consider the alternative: a California where cows have been banned. We should be grateful that this straw research might keep milk and burgers in our future

I believe this earlier approach was nixed by angry cow work stoppages, which does seem a tad unflattering and undignified.
