Back in 2015, I really liked Cruz when he announced he was running for the office of the president. He had a good speech that he gave on the fly... I think it was like a 30-minute speech (not to be confused with his television advertisement). My "like" for him wasn't minimized when I saw Trump running, who became my new favorite by the simple fact I believed he could get things done (and I believed we needed a business man to run this country).
I was heavily swayed towards Trump, and was pretty much decided on him early on... but I quickly started to dislike Cruz when I saw the way he handled his "final moments" in the primary when it was obvious that Trump was sweeping the field, and Cruz was doing whatever and anything he could to gain that edge. Where Cruz had tried to play off being an "outsider" in the beginning, he spared no expense cozying up to the establishment at the end of the primary. Picking Carly Fiorini, the one responsible for selling-off Lucent's "Bell Labs" division, along with all the patents (horrible choice), and he started seeking support from other establishment individuals like Jeb Bush, and all the people that have quickly sold out when their power waned.
Trump is the only one with "self derived" power... and that's huge in my book.
I don't know what remains to be... but if Trump is on the primary ballot in 2023, I won't hesitate for one second to vote for him.
That said... I'm not sure what's a more powerful combo
Trump as President of the United States in 2024, or... Trump as Speaker of the House in 2022+ and Ron DeSantis as President in 2024.
Both would be a killer combination. Imagine Trump running the House of representatives with a Republican majority? And Ron DeSantis in the White House?

I can't imagine Trump "running" anything. Except into the ground.

And as bad as he is, he's the only individual worthy of acknowledgement for President.
America is a sad place now.

I know, right? Low gas prices, secure borders, low unemployment, booming economy, who on earth wants THOSE things? Not me, I want lockdowns, forced vaccinations, school through zoom, complete open borders so everyone in the world gets to vote, take away all guns, free college tuition and free abortions! /s

So why wasn't there such a pro-Trump landslide in the 2020 elections that there wouldn't be any doubt in anyone's mind about who legitimately won the election? How much cheating do you think the Democrats could have gotten away with? You can blame it on Covid, but it was the incoherent response of the Trump administration on Covid that cost the Trump-Pence candidacy at election time. Incoherent, especially in terms of a public communications strategy.
Covid exposed Trump for the buffoon that he is, so much, that many Republican voters decided to go with Biden-Harris at the top, or at least not vote for Trump-Pence, and then vote for Republicans on the remainder of their ballots.
Ask Brad Raffensperger. He produced the numbers for that, in Georgia, if memory serves me.
People want a President that can steer a steady course during a crisis like Covid, not just during more or less normal times.[This message has been edited by rinselberg (edited 01-10-2022).]

This bull-kaka has exposed 80-90% of the human species for the buffoon-sheep they are !!!!
Yup, mask gonna stop a virus the same way panties stop a fart.
I hear Antifa and the rest of the left know all about panties and fart-stopping. . The right just capitalizes on them and sells them
It's not the fart (virus) that needs stopping, its the sheet that comes after it !!!!

Because everyone knows that Brandon has done so much better.
This has been a new thing. We are making it up as we go, and (well... most of us) reacting to information as it becomes available. Brandon has had almost two years to watch and figure it out. He's not doing any better than anyone else.
