Tail of the Dragon (Page 2/2)

If you leave the tail on US 129 headed towards Robbinsville, NC there is a fellow Fiero owner. He is the only place to sell helmets in 50 mile radius and has a little shop. (GF left helmet at home...) He is a really nice guy with a kit car and a few extras.

The Tail area is such a fun area. I would suggest Cherohala Skyway and 28 to fontana are great roads near the tail plus 129 to robbinsville is awesome too.

Rams, I don't think that picture is anywhere on the Dragon.....

Joe,
You may be correct.
Surely no one on FB would lie.................... Actually, it was a great pic of fall footage.

Willie,
I've ridden the Dragon's Tail four times (both directions) over the years. Every time, some hot shot tried to run me off the road. I ride within my own capabilities and stay on my side of the double yellow. But, many don't. And, you're right about that Tree of Shame. I should have stated that I never recommend the Dragon's Tail on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. I actually prefer Tuesday, Wednesday for my jaunts through those twisties.

If that pick is real, it looks like rush hour in Denver.

That picture isn't real. I used a similar picture for the Run For The Hills Tshirt one year. I remember seeing that picture when I was searching for images. This is The Dragon from the intersection of Hwy 28 and US 129 at the south end to where US 129 comes alongside the lake.
