Vacation in Dubai? (Page 2/3)

I've also been to Thailand, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, Palau, Saipan, The Philippine Islands and maybe a dozen other nations

It's the same everywhere I went except maybe not so much in Palau.

Fifty years ago in the military.

And it has progressively become more common than even then.
About the only place where it is still uncommon (and somewhat unacceptable) to be 'western' in appearance and culture is mainland China and even there, it is nothing like the old pictures and descriptions show from the 1950s.

I talk online weekly to people (military expats) currently living in the Western Pacific and Indian Ocean nations and thru their pictures and conversations, it is obvious that Western (US type) culture is still making huge inroads into traditional indigenous culture. I was working in Belize in the early 90s and the same holds true down there.

KPop with it's global following sure didn't arise out of traditional S. Korean heritage.

And they all marry different races of people, right? No, which is the statement I made that the rest of the world does not do, which our Western predominantly White countries do. What I said about how they view even their own women comes straight from their mouths.

Military people are a bubble unto themselves. They don't represent the majority of people. Billions and billions are the norm. Less than 1% of Americans serve in the military and we have more bases across the globe than anyone.

Belize, another tiny nation that tries to attract Americans to buy retirements in their country. You aren't being very convincing. When the balloon goes up, the indigenous population will eat the fat off those expats there.

Why do I have to always say, yes, there are exceptions? Of course there are. Japan is THE example of such. And they still don't want any infiltration by foreign people for the most part. It's also an occupied nation.

There are about 3 billion in just 3 Asian countries. How many people are in Taiwan, Japan and South Korea? There are a billion Africans.

Again, you're wrong, what is your point?

In Thailand... e.g. Phuket, Bangkok, etc... the people literally wear the exact same clothes that we do. I remember walking by someone with a Metallica "Ride the Lightning" shirt on someone 10 years ago, he was maybe 17-18... and was jamming with some headset. I was like... "Yeah, Metallica!"

When I went into Mc.Donalds, all wearing the same damn Mc.Donalds uniform. There were some Buddhists in the bright orange robes, but everyone else wore the exact same **** we did. And it wasn't because it came over on some donation barge as you're suggesting. These were clothes that they bought, new... they weren't poor.

Dude, you are really, really crazy... I would love to know what sites you read and where you get all your crazy from.

Every other land discriminates against all other groups. 7 billion of them discriminate racially.

You're talking about the clothes as though that is an ethno-centric precept.
There isn't a chance I'm going to be able to elevate your acumen to the point of making this a discussion.

And there isn't a chance you have the ability to acknowledge that you're not even in the discussion. You're not crazy. You're just limited.

Look, I want you to understand how the rest of us are perceiving you here... for one, let's ignore the fact that you quoted yourself, and unless I didn't know any better, it looks like you're talking to yourself (post above).

Second, you're making claims that counter to what people who have actually been there. It's been ~10 years since I've been in Thailand, and 8 in Japan, but I've been to plenty of other places. Honduras is a good example of people wearing clothes that come down in donations... in the poor areas. But in countries in Asia, where most of our clothes are actually made, why would you think they wouldn't wear these clothes themselves?

I remember walking into a shoe store that JUST sold Converse. I walk in and the very first thing the lady says adamantly is "NO SIZE!!!" A shame, because she had every single color of Converse All-Star you could imagine.

If I didn't know any better, it would appear to me as though you are trying to tell us that Western Culture is the "premier" one, and every other culture is sub-par. I kind of figured this was where you were going, but you generally aren't clear. You've talked about my vernacular, etc. before. I've had to remind you before that I've got... I dunno, let me count them... 5 degrees (up through Masters) and multiple Masters Certificates, and I'm also working towards a Juris Doctorate right now. Now, this doesn't make me smarter than anyone else, but it does mean that I have at least some level of comprehension.

I don't know where you live, or where you get your ideas from. But you present yourself as literally the embodiment of what leftists say when they refer to Republicans as "racist radicals." I'm glad you don't consider yourself Republican, or Conservative. As far as I'm concerned, you're 1950s Democrat.

The world we know today... what you consider to be the positive aspects of society, is because of Capitalism. What makes the United States (or at least has made it so successful) is because of our Constitution. It's not because we were predominantly white. Throughout history, cultures advanced at different rates depending on their geographic influences. Mathematics as we know it today, is largely based on Arabic structure. The Chinese invented gun powder, the Sextant, and dozens of other technologies that we advanced on. There were many centuries when the "western" society was nothing more than a bunch of smelly inbred living in mud-huts, while other parts of the world were conducting science experiments.

All I ask is that you really do some soul searching. I don't know what drove you down the path that you hate "minorities" and hate gay people, but whatever is driving this, it's your problem, not theirs.

I think what Sourmash is alluding to, but having trouble vocalizing, is Tribalism. The "Us vs Them" mentality ALL humans run to in times of crisis or strife. What LEVEL of crisis or strife that takes is an individual thing.

Personally, I dont give a damn so long as the "isms" and "alphabets" aren't bothering me with it. You do you, I'll do me. It's when these "special interests" and "activists" get in my (societies) face and try bullying, forcing and pushing around that gets my back up. THEN when they goobytit tries using "Laws" to enforce the B.S. I get even more wound up and "F-U"

STFU, GTFO and go be "XXXXXXX_Whatever" somewhere else and don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

But then I am kind of an "extremist individualist" who mostly quit society a long time ago. Most of it just isn't worth the grief it brings with it.

Tribalism is another good way to say it also. I didn't allude. It's expressly said. maryjane just took.off on some I'll conceived tangent because he doesn't like the message.

I'm not having trouble conveying it, it's that Florida' man isn't capable of reading what I said and then even quoted myself saying.

The fact that he's still continued to talk about something that isnt my position shows his limiting factor. In this case it's apparently an emotional limitation. He doesn't appear dumb. He just can't set his emotions apart from reasoned evaluation and it holds him back.

So, the hang up is on him. maryjane took off on a tangent and this guy just followed the bait like he typically does. He isnt done expressing his emotions.

Billions and billions (the vast majority of the world) do not elevate other races above themselves. The same is true about not elevating women above the males. Only in America and Europe does that happen.

He will reply blaming other people for his inabilities and throw insults, but there are reasons people created an NPC meme.

The pictures that I see of Dubai are AMAZING. But I don't think I would go, I am not much of a traveler.
