Ferrari 1st. Corvette 2nd. By about a minute.
Not bad for a first outing.

A mid engine Corvette is a "me too" to a Ferrari.

Just checked the results myself. Corvette 2nd, kinda bummer. Then I counted the opposition. 13 Ferraris, 12 Porsches, and 3 Aston Martins. Against two Corvettes? I'll take a second as pretty darn good.

Yeah, and the two Corvettes had the two best lap times of any of the GT cars, 3:47.501 and 3:47.716.

Agreed. That's nothing to be disappointed about.

The Ford GT40 didn't win first time out either in 1965.
But eventually cleaned Ferrari's clock 4 years in a row in 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969.

Their 1966 Lemans 1st, 2nd, 3rd place wins are what's depicted in the movie Ford vs Ferrari.

That was a very decent movie.

They were doing a press event about 2 years ago near my house. I was able to go check it out while they had journalists hooning around an old airstrip. Lately, I've seen a bunch on the road - there's definitely an identity crisis!

They look pretty exotic, except for the taillights, which don't look right compared to the rest of the car. They also don't sound very corvette-y.
I do like them, from every angle but the rear... but the 3/4 angle from down low near the rear wheel well is gorgeous. From directly behind, it looks like a camaro rear ended an older corvette at warp speed :P

My favorite color in person turned out to be the one I like the least in photos, that sort of neon-ish bright blue. In real life it's a really deep paint and you can't see that in photos.
