I think like it does with other things, social media only amplifies what was already there. Combine it with peer pressure, and having an audience, in effect some people showing off for attention, some virtue signaling. Its like they are self medicating their fears and emotions. Along with that, there is all the divided news, divided groups thinking alike, running from actually challenging personal thought provoking things. Believing nothing exists outside their bubble, or if it does...it must be "evil". Leaves an easy tool for leaders to lead the weak and fearful with. They won't let a crisis go to waste, no matter how big or real or not a crisis actually is.[This message has been edited by 2.5 (edited 01-05-2021).]

I have heard it suggested lately, that once Covid has run its course, we may be subjected to "climate related" shutdowns. You know, for the children. What is to stop our keepers from imposing "terror related" shutdowns? Riot related shutdowns? Toilet paper shortage? Wear a mask.

Don't shake hands. Don't unmask your face. Don't stand within 6 feet of any other person. Don't be in an indoor space with more than 5 other people (unless it's Walmart where capacity is limited to 975 people). Government is here to protect you, except for the open border with super-resistant diseases coming across with the illegal crossings.
The immediate positive I can think of here is people now wash their hands more frequently. I still see males leaving the bathroom without washing their hands but see more people hand sanitizing out in public.

I know some people that think that sanitizing in public is a dirty word. (and probably also think it will change your DNA. )
Even without covid, there's some places I go it's probably a good idea to use hand sanitzer as I go out the door. I went in the men's room at the livestock commission a few months ago and there was more cow **** on the floor than there was out in the auction ring.[This message has been edited by maryjane (edited 01-05-2021).]
