I don't think that is as categorically or as absolutely true today, as it was in the years before August 15, 2020.
I put myself on "secret probation" after the GFY that I posted here, in another thread, just the other day.
No more GFYs for from me. That's what I'm aspiring to, these days.[This message has been edited by rinselberg (edited 12-21-2020).]

Sure... but there can be repercussions. I'd like to think that forum rules are applied across the board.

So maybe you would say its correct to say maybe they were "mum" about it until it was too late? Mum about details? etc? Why would they do that? What do you think the point of "the other Pennocks guy going unnamed" was? I'm not sure what you are expressing. I laid out a response asking if you think the news does these things, I'm not sure what your response is.
ON a side note did you watch the video? I thought it was pretty good.

I don't understand how anyone could claim the media (I'll say "news", since that is primarily what is meant) (media goes far beyond the news) doesn't ignore stories, and choose stories and topics based on political agendas. You feel like that doesnt happen?
Then after that, what is reported is many times, twisted, shown only one side, or left many details out. On top of that, opinion, emotional pleas and wording added. On top of that, blame insinuated. |

The "media" isn't just a single entity. I tend to describe it as "venues." The New York Times. The New York Post. NBC News. Newsmax. Four venues. There's a certain amount of overlap and duplication in their coverage, but each venue is different.
I had Newsmax on TV a couple of hours ago, instead of MSNBC. That's unusual for me. The first change that I noticed is that it was louder. I had to turn down the volume level

Beyond that, I cannot back up during a Newsmax broadcast, the way that I can (and do very frequently) on MSNBC and CNN. That's because Newsmax plays through some special or third party application in our Comcast package.

Newsmax was giving particular attention to a new lawsuit that is being filed, with the objective of throwing out all of the Pennsylvania ballots that were counted after election day. Mail-in ballots. Some 2.6 million mail-in ballots. The lawsuit wants to have Pennsylvania's 20 electoral college votes for Biden-Harris nullified and have the Pennsylvania General Assembly select a new slate of electors. I see the same story online at Newsmax(.com).
MSNBC is focusing on the Covid pandemic and the Covid vaccines, and the big "Solar Winds" cyber espionage operation which is (mostly) being attributed to "the Russians." And they are also "negging" President Trump "every which way to Sunday" for his various post-election actions and attitudes.
"You pay your money, you takes your choice."

You guys are starting to seriously piss me off. I'm not sure what it is you are trying to do. See how far you can go? See if I have the guts to put you guys on probation or ban you? Let me repeat: do not make personal attacks on other members. If you can not abide to this simple rule, a ban will follow.
And just because I singled you two out, doesn't mean others are free to do whatever they want. I'm also getting sick and tired of a certain person who keeps mailing and PM-ing me pointing fingers at others. You as well are on the edge of being permanently banned from this forum. Why? No, not because you make personal attacks. You are much sneakier about it. You just pick a large group of people to insult and then hide behind the fact you never attacked anyone personally. Your bucket is just as full as everyone else's.
