I was also referring to how many folks I know here are picking up walmart orders now, you order online, drive up and they put the order in your trunk. The store is kind of more of a warehouse in that regard. That and folks using Amazon Pantry or the like to have groceries delivered. I havent heard of Acme, SR, F-lion, but actually I personally go to the small groceries now, less traffic and less BS that say, Wal Mart's grocery section. I'm sure this is all different across the nation.

But any "brick and mortar "store not just grocery, I mentioned them as I figured theyd be the last brick and mortar bastian. Even restaraunts vs drive up / food trucks.

Big Food stores can change names where you are in US... Some names are regional but Own by Huge Co having many of them like Acme is own by Albertsons who owns other brands.

SR is ShopRite. Food Lion is mostly known as "southern" brand I think.

Some Smaller groceries near me but most are gone. I think Only one IGA store in 10+ mile radius. Rarely I use them as often don't have stuff I need.
Most small grocers are gone many years ago because of many reason. Example: Most groceries moved or gone in many Cities for decades because of high tax, rent, etc. Even most Big grocers don't own the property or building the store is in.

Many of these big stores had delivery 10+ years ago. Various types of Store pickup isn't new for many either. Just many did advertise these services until recent.

XMarts and other Big Boxes was killing many "Mom & Pop" stores way before Amazon. Now many of B&M Big Boxes have problems w/ Amazon too before current panic. Is why Walmart+ w/ near $100/yr got started, not the panic.

Most Walmarts and other BB near me barely slowed down even at worse lock down. HD and related did slow down mainly because many Contractors was and are in lock down. Many contractors didn't really reopen before current lock down like most restaurants etc. States and City Govmnt love lock downs as want more people collecting unemployment, welfare, etc. and the Petty Dictators won't give up "emergency powers" anytime soon.
