I am a long way from being a furniture builder, but I do want to build a closet organization system in 2 closets, build cabinets in my laundry room and build two fish aquarium stands that double as book shelves.
I have a lot on my plate, BUT with help from this thread I should be even better off

This sounds like a fun project.
I have built some furniture in the past. Couple of desks and cabinets.

Made a couple cabinets out of some 2x6 pine boards that came out pretty cool looking.
Most of my experience comes from my time in the Navy. I worked in a Carpenters shop for 3 1/2 years. Lot of fun and I learned a lot.

I miss having a shop full of every tool you could want.

Letting those tools go was the right thing to do back then. But the cost of getting new ones is pretty high and to do so just for this project would make the end result very expensive. I looked at just renting the specific tools I would need but need to find a source with better tools.

The planer I looked at would not hold a cutting blade height (one side to the other) and the blades were crap due to wear.

A craftsman takes care of there tools and what I looked at had been abused by many renters over time.

I know you no longer have the tools, but you apparently have the skills to use them. Have you considered renting the tools you need? I'm sure there's some place that'll do it.

The skills were there but to be honest, probably a bit rusty now and, I haven’t kept up with new techniques that have been developed. I found a gent a couple of hours away that is a passionate wood worker and is very interested in my unique project. He is willing to take this on and in that we have other interests in common (Valkyries), I’m looking forward to meeting him and his lovely bride and co-rider.

Will take and post pics when this gets done.
