But, as you said, Floyd wasn't the 1st to die in this manner and probably won't be the last.

People as both individuals and groups have been'peacefully' protesting any number of different issues and abuses from govt, industry, town councils, zoning and all other kinds of things for many years and one thing America has learned...starting with the Boston Tea party..is that the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

People say "Write your congressman..write your representative". Well, they get dozens of those letters and emails every week and little or nothing ever comes of them other than a little lip service.

I abhor violence and destruction of property, and certainly disdain physical assault and violence against law enforcement, but at some point, it comes across some folk's minds that the only way to get anyone's real attention is to go that route.

In this country, it takes a LOT to get change made.
I do disagree with the rioting and destruction of property, but I also understand it.

I could not have said it better*.
Incredibly eloquent.
It's something I aspire to.

I just always seem to fugg' it up!
It's probably the bong...

* i actually think i can just a tiny bit!

Recogizing the problem is usually the first step.

But yet they keep voting for the same people hoping for "change"
Trump would have gave them change, they could put it with the rest of their paycheck in the bank.
Then while they have some money coming in they can start feeling good about themselves.
Start building a family unit instead of starting a bunch of fatherless bastards.
Hell if nothing else perhaps life will have more meaning then what someone can give me if I don't hurt them.

Nothing surprising here.
Many (most? if we're honest) people figured he was f'd up, and probably on the ragged edge of an O.D. This is really not news. I even remember hearing reports. But they didn't fit the narrative.
(Edit - I suspect we won't hear much about this investigation, either. And if we do, it won't matter.)
What nobody mentions is that he was also a big dude. Could be quite intimidating. We don't hear the details of the previous arrest. How many cops got injured before he was subdued? I wonder.
But we'll never hear about that, either. (But I would suspect that his name was pretty well known, all through the precinct. I'm sure they didn't want that to happen a second time.)

Also, people already know that the police officers were thrown under the bus. It was/is happening everywhere. Saw that same sh!t happen in Atlanta. It's why I don't go there anymore.

George Floyd was a POS. I did not even know there was a "George Floyd Foundation", but if it still exists it needs to concentrate on the "cause" instead of the "person". In fact, the George Floyd incident alone would probably not have started such a huge movement. It was Brianna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbrery, and George Floyd all dying within just a few months.

That being said, I doubt there are any "new facts" in the George Floyd case. Chauvin and the other police involved had teams of attorneys and investigators to defend them. All the medical evidence was presented in the trial and 12 common people, just like you and me, unanimously decided that Chauvin was guilty of murder.

Most media is politically biased (on both sides), and I am assuming that is the case with this documentary.

Not surprising. None of it.
