Well, there's always 2024. (Page 2/6)

I was expecting that 2A would be the first one on the list, here.

Maybe dennis_6 could fill out that remark about Trump having allowed social media to silence Conservatives. Is that specific to the 2A issues that are of concern here? Is it a more general observation?

I'm not much on social media. Sometimes I will go to Facebook or even LinkedIn to follow a link on a specific topic, but I seldom browse or look at that much of what's going on in those venues. I don't have a Twitter account. Instagram--never. I don't even have a real mobile phone by today's standards. Just an older style flip phone that I keep on me when I go out in the car, just for emergencies. I don't use it for hardly anything else.

Trump already said hes running for 2020. His numbers are going up. You can copy it down, Ill say he WILL win a 2nd term...UNLESS someone absolutely remarkable enters. I dont count Goddess Opra as any better than Hillary Rotten Clinton. If she did get in by some miracle, she would just bribe anyone to get her way since she has no clue about politics. Who would be her vice, Joy Behar ?

I sent you a PM.

The 2A is already gone, what we have now is just a shadow. At the beginning of this presidency it looked like we might restore fragments of the 2A but currently it's not looking good.

Yeah, 2nd was gone as of 1934. PM replied to, and agreed upon.

I'm going to go ahead and call it. I think trump has betrayed Republicans to a point that isn't recoverable and he'll never have the respect of the Democrats. I think Trump has already lost the 2020 election. I've maintained he was a clown since the election and like many, admit I'd rather that clown than Hillary.

President Trump never had the full support of the Republican party or even most Republican members in the government.

The "never-Trumpers" even started with them.

President Trump's campaign was a classic populist movement and it was never focused on one single issue.

I'd suggest waiting to see how all this shakes out before you start wearing that hair shirt that you just tried on for size.

You can't be serious.

President Trump is the reigning Champion POTUS of using "social media", (e.g. Twitter), to keep the left in a constant state of turmoil and panic and communicate directly to conservatives, bypassing the leftist controlled MSM.

Presidents Nixon and then Reagan were also pioneers in being very adept at using the mass media of their time, which was not nearly so openly partisan as it is now.

Before them, FDR used the "social media" of his day to get his message out in his radio "Fire Side Chats".

I don't get the reference.

Research "Cilice".

It regards a form of mild self punishment and repentance.

My reference to it is only somewhat valid if you voted for President Trump, so I made an assumption there.

I think one thing to remember about President Trump in this matter is a quote that someone made:

"The Right takes what Donald Trump says seriously but not literally. The Left takes everything Donald Trump says literally but not seriously."

Nobody denies that President Trump isn't the most "artful" orator, but actions always speak louder and more clearly than words.

I damn sure do remember that clown.
I vividly recall when that aired on TV. We all kept thinking it was a comedy parody or something.
Tragically, it was "President Peanuts" *seriously* trying to mimic FDR.
He never could master using the media effectively. He always came across like a hillbilly on Quaaludes.
It was just sad.
