My guess is Biden isnt the only one to blame for this mess. Seems more like a larger plan, but yes very leftist.

That is a very contortionist-like utterance--"very leftist"--considering that it was President Trump's Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, who led the negotiations with the Taliban in February of 2020 that set the stage for the Afghanistan that Joe Biden inherited, a full year later, as the 46th President of the United States, and considering that the Trump administration prevailed upon Pakistan to free the lead Taliban negotiator, who had been under detention in Pakistan.[This message has been edited by rinselberg (edited 09-01-2021).]

I would say blaming this administrations horrible choice and execution on the previous administration is somewhat contortionist-like. I realise leftist can be interpreted a few ways. You would need to stop being so partisan and thinking in those terms.
(Though I do find this quite a rosy view of what most know as a liberal.)

To say that Biden was carrying out Trump's plan is akin to proclaiming that Jeffry Dahmer was a saint because he delivered young men to God.

The right decision was made to get the hell out. The wrong decision was made to do it in this manner.
Because phony conservatives now shriek that we need Afghan refugees....so they can cry that Dems are the real racists. Republicans are totally owned by the left, in idiologolical social terms.

I wouldn't say flat out that "Biden was carrying out Trump's plan", but, on the other hand, to encapsulate the current situation as "very leftist" à la "2.5" . . . that trivializes this situation and events.
I'll have neither one from that shortlist of just two different "takes."[This message has been edited by rinselberg (edited 09-01-2021).]

It was a Trump campaign promise. And a good one. He just didn't the stuff he said.
